I'm trying to decide between Crystal Palace & Akershus for my birthday trip in October - anyone have a good (or bad) experience eating gluten free at either?

Also we're trying to come up with another dinner or lunch (we are doing DxDP for an overnight stay). We are going to 'Ohana for dinner our first night, the character breakfast early in the morning and then something else before we leave for home. I've thought about doing 50's Prime Time again, but it's rare we get to do a table service at WDW, so I kinda want to try something we haven't been to before - I'm big on sweets, so preferably something with an amazing dessert or milkshakes, or both!

Thanks!

I haven't eaten at Crystal Palace for breakfast, but I've heard good things about them GF. They were fairly accommodating for me GF/CF (oh man, that chocolate brownie dessert was awesome! They make it in house, no pre packaged french meadow brownies there!)

My experience has always been breakfast is a lot easier to do GF, so I think you'll be OK wherever you go.

I love, love, love Ohana for dinner! Chef TJ is amazing. I'm drooling just thinking about it! :thumbsup2

Thanks, Sarah! Your blog is what convinced me to go for 'Ohana. :D I've been following it for a few months - it's very helpful!

Snorris49, thank you so much for your blog. I'm going in Oct, and I just recently found out I have to eat GF. I've been to WDW many times without any restrictions so I'm a bit nervous. You're reviews on California Grill and Ohana were so helpful. My 180 day mark come in 10 days.

Thanks again!!!!:yay::yay::yay:

I'm really glad that my blog has helped out! :thumbsup2

That was my hope, because I know what helped me when I first went GF/CF was the disboards and all the support and advice from people here. The reviews and pictures were just so helpful. And knowing that someone else had first hand advice made it so much easier.

Plus, who doesn't love looking at pictures of WDW food! I know I sure do! Especially yummy safe food for me to eat!

I hope you both have a great time on your trip...and of course, you have to share your reviews when you come back! :banana:

Crystal Palace is the only placed that served DD frozen Vans Waffles. Not prepared very well either. Ohana & Cape May made her gluten free Mickey Waffles. She got to be just like any other kid. I cannot remember what DD ate at Norway. I do not remember them giving her waffles probably only fruit. I did not like the food at Norway it was a few years ago, we have not been back. Cape May and O'hana we go to every trip.

Whispering Canyon Cafe also has Van's Waffles.

I do believe Chef Mickey's (which is a character breakfast) makes allergy friendly Mickey Waffles, but I haven't eaten there yet. Just read some other reviews of it. :thumbsup2

We have eaten breakfast at Chef Mickey's twice and both times had Mickey shaped GF waffles.
Cinderella's Royal Table serves the Van's waffles at breakfast.
