First time trip to DL! I am gluten free. Any breakfast suggestions/locations? Staying at DLR (no car). We are not doing any sit down breakfasts.

Thank you!

My DD14 has Celiac Disease and obviously needs to be GF as well. Last year, we got breakfast tacos in Downtown Disney at Tortilla Joe's Express just outside the main restaurant. We simply asked them to change their gloves and use corn tortillas for her tacos. They even put paper around the corn tortillas in the warming press. She had those 3 mornings in a row, loved it, and never felt sick.

Also, Storytellers Cafe at Disney's Grand Californian did well for breakfast. It was a buffet for everyone but the chef came out and made DD14 anything (and everything) she wanted.

There's a whole thread around here someplace...

We're gluten free due to celiac. There are options everywhere. Seems like most of the character breakfasts offer GF mickey waffles. We did the Plaza Inn, and the chef came out and offered us all kinds of stuff including the gf waffles and a really nice muffin; they will cook your eggs, sausage etc. separately for you.

Not breakfast, but some other good finds we had: GF pizza at Pizza Port; gluten free pasta in a couple places; Blue Bayou did a really lovely brown dinner roll that tasted wonderful-- don't know if they're still doing that. Also I read that BB would do a Monte Cristo gluten free if you emailed ahead and asked, so I did. It was on a gluten-free hot dog bun cut diagonally, kind of weird, but it tasted quite yummy. In other places, instead of dinner rolls, they often gave us GF hamburger or hot dog buns sliced pretty and sprinkled with butter and herbs. Napa Rose does an awesome flatbread with herbs. Jolly Holiday bakery has a GF flourless chocolate cake (read: gf brownie). For desserts otherwise you're pretty limited-- we got offered creme brulee or sorbet everywhere, including Carthay circle and Napa Rose.

My wife doesn't eat gluten and we went to starbucks every morning. They have a pretty good gluten free sandwich there.

I live on breakfast tortillas. This is exactly what I was looking for! Thank you.

Thanks you. Lots of good info here. I’ve used gluten free hotdog rolls various ways myself lol.

My (very limited) experience from our 2017 trip is that GF quick service breakfast options are pretty limited. I was disappointed, but not terribly surprised. Also, I don't like eggs, so take my advice with a grain of salt - there are probably more options for egg-eaters.

This trip, I'm going to Amazon Prime order some GF bread and peanut butter (and maybe something fun, like muffins or donuts?) to make in the mornings.

At character breakfasts, they do a good job accommodating!
