We are headed to Disneyland in November and I am now having to eat gluten free. I am wondering if anyone can help me out with safe food options at Disneyland and California Adventure. Any help would be great.
If you go to Search This Forum and type in "gluten free", there are a lot of threads with a lot of information for you. I also believe guest services can give you a list of all your gluten free options in the parks.
At Coke Corner, we were able order gluten free hotdogs ( with gluten free buns)! They took about 10 minutes to prepare but were very good.
Tortilla Joes had gluten free options clearly marked on the menu and Ralph Brennan's had a separate gluten free menu.
At the Minnie and Friends character breakfast, the chef came out to discuss what he could prepare from the kitchen (gluten free Mickey waffles) and then we were able to get fruit, omelets, bacon and sausage from the buffet.
Rancho del Zocalo also has many options.
My three daughters and I have to eat gluten free and we all enjoyed all our meals, didn't feel it was a struggle to find safe options and no one got sick!
Go to City Hall at Disneyland and ask for the Gluten Free Menu. All the resturants are listed first by the park, then by the resturant/food cart and location in park, and then will list what is gluten free.
At counter service your food will take a little longer. Most of the chefs will bring your gluten free items to you at the counter.
I've got Celiac and am strictly gluten-free, and was just at Disneyland earlier this month. I was thrilled by the choices that they have there, and how accommodating they were. My first stop was at City Hall, where they'll give you a huge list of all of the food that you can eat in Disneyland or DCA (including vendor carts). The restaurants in Downtown Disney were also knowledgeable about gluten-free food, but they each have their own way of handling it (Tortilla Joes has the GF options noted on the menu, whereas the Rainforest Cafe only allows a manager to take and deliver your order).
I was most excited about the character breakfast at Plaza Inn - they made me GF waffles, which was a huge treat.
