I'm heading to Aulani for the first time and I was looking for some help in finding gluten free options close to the resort. I'm looking for celiac friendly restaurants or any helpful advice. Thanks!

We just returned from Aulani and traveled with someone with celiac. It was very easy to find gluten free options. We had Ulu cafe vouchers and the daily hot plate was gluten free while we were there (rice or mashed potatoes, veggies, and a protein - salmon, ribs, pork loin). The grab and go salads come with the crutons on the side. We asked the concierge and he said all the sit-down restaurants on property accommodate allergies and the chef would come out to speak with us about options. We got plate lunches in The North Shore that were gluten free and ate at Monkeypod across the street that also had plenty of options.

Have you been and how did you find it? My son and I are both celiac and we are headed there in 1 week?

We were there in October and I was able to find plenty of options everywhere we went. One word of caution, I ordered a cheeseburger on a gluten free bun a couple times at Off the Hook and the second time I was given a normal bun. You can tell because the normal buns are yellow on the inside and the gluten free are white. I ate two bites before I noticed. Our waitress then confirmed the mistake. I was extremely upset at the time. Mistakes happen but I thought Disney would be more cautious. We got a couple of comped meals and they were very apologetic but it still ruined a day and a half of our honeymoon.

Thank you for the tip, sorry to hear that that happened to you. It is no fun being sick while on vacation especially your honeymoon. We chose Aulani since Disney is usually pretty good, but sounds like I will have to keep an eye.

We are going in June also and my daughter has celiac. We got a 2 bedroom with kitchen and plan to cook most of her meals. Most places don't have a gluten free cross contamination place to buy food. We go to the Poly at Disney World and they have a gluten free cooker etc. so no chance of cross contamination there but most places don't understand the whole cross contamination part. I hope we can get food that was made in a gluten free cooker etc.
