Glucose test while on Atkins?

My doctor would like for me to have a glucose test done this week. I'm apprehensive about doing this because I've cut out all sugar out of my diet now for 2 months. What will happen if I all of a sudden drink that cup of very sugary syrup?? I'm so afraid of sending my body into total shock. Or at the least, feeling ill for the next couple of days, or renewing my cravings for sugary foods. Has anybody had one of these glucose tests done while on Atkins? Did it effect you at all? Maybe the "type of sugar" they use in that syrup is different? Meaning, it won't affect me the way real sugar would?

Sorry...no answer for you, but a question. Does your doctor know you are on Atkins? I would for sure let him know and discuss your concerns before the test is done.

Drinking that glucola or whatever they use is likely to make you feel pretty yucky.

Be sure that your doctor knows that you have been sugar free for such a long time.
