Glow with the show

When I first read about this a few months ago the first thing I thought was this could make for some really cool, interesting photos

But then I started to wonder about silly practical issues Like when the tallest guy in the world comes and stands in front of you with your tripod .... now stick a set of randomly glowing ears on his head

Have any of you managed to get some good shots with the firefly ears added into the mix yet? I'd love to hear any thoughts and experiences with this

I have not taken a tripod over to Fantasmic yet. I am planning on heading back this Saturday if everything works out. If I make it to HS I will try to snap a few.

I can see this being awesome for all those keen folk with camcorders. I'm hoping the photographers get an equally good experience

Funny isn't it - when this was first announced everyone wanted to know where to get the ears, how much they cost, when they could get them .... and the first thing I thought the moment I saw it was "Will this play nice with photos?" lol

There's a blog entry up with a video. I must say, wow that does look awesome! At the same time, it's probably gonna be a nightmare for taking pics if you have the audience in your shots. But then, it's probably gonna make for neat pics just of the audience!

Thanks, yes I watched the live streaming from Fantasmic last night which prompted this post. Well we will have to find a way to make it work for us

We were at Fantasmic last night. Yes, there could be an issue with the person sitting in front of you wearing glowing ears. You might have to crank the tripod up a bit higher.

We know the DIS folks who did the live stream last night and they were seated fairly far back, perhaps 10 rows from the top. As you can see from their video, the ears add a layer of color to the scene.

I actually would love to shoot this with a wide fast lens from the back of the amphitheater. I think it would make for some beautiful shots.

We'll be doing WOC at DLR for the first time in December and I'd like a similar effect. I'm just thinking the ears have been around there for so long there won't be as many in the crowd.

I was thinking the same thing! I guess I have to do Fantasmic more than once on my upcoming trip just for the ears. Lucky there's a few nights with two showings. First showing for the ears, second showing for the show
