I have been reading lots of tips about what to buy and pack ahead of time. I read that you can find glow sticks, necklaces and bracelets at the Dollar Tree stores for $1 an item. However, I just bought 200 of them off of ebay for $23.22!!!! :cool1:  :cool1:  We have 5 kids going in November for 7 days/nights and thought this would be cheaper than paying $3-4 a piece per night in the parks and if they have extras they could make a little magic and give them away to kids that don't have one.

What a great idea. And I'm sure you'll have extras - I bet your kids would have a blast "making/sharing a little magic" by giving away extras to other kids in the park. I know my kids would do that.

As a matter of fact, I bought a bunch from Dollar Tree and will have some extra's. Maybe I'll let my kids bring them with us to the park and give away the extras to other kids.

What a great deal!

That is a great idea! I always knew that you could get them at the Dollar Tree- but the ebay deal is even better!

I got 1000 for just over $30 including shipping on ebay.
I always buy tons of them so I can give them away. During our last trip I gave out a bunch to everyone on the bus after Fantasmic was cancelled due to rain. Everyone was soaked and depressed but once all the kids started playing with the glow sticks the mood changed! When I got off at our resort the whole bus applauded (wait... is that a good thing?) and thanked me.

I gave away over 300 at our local 4th of July fireworks and I'll go through the rest at Disney.
After all, how many can the 4 kids in our group use anyway.

I agree wholeheartedly! IT will be a good chance for the girl going with us to see the benefits of giving and sharing the magic with other people and hopefully help avoid the me! me! me! syndrome that overstimulation at Disney can cause. I am glad the bus load was appreciative! :thumbsup2

WOW!!! That's an awesome deal and some great sharing you guys are doing. It's too late for this time (with only 9 days remaining :cool1: ), but I hope I can remember to do that next time!!

Sweet idea I am off to e-bay. Sharing is always great. In the dark we can throw them in the pool and let the kids jump in for them. Thanks for the idea!

Hi
I bought packs of glowstick bracelets at Dollar Tree. They were 15 glowstick bracelets for $1.00. I bought about 5 packs. I also bought some necklaces and they were 2 in a pack for $1.00. They're big, so I don't know how many of them, I'll actually carry. I thought we could give them out at Fantasmic or also on the bus. I thought they were great ideas. Have fun!!! :)

I actually did take glow sticks to WDW earlier this month and gave some away to a little girl sitting next to us. It felt good to share the magic, but I think the little girl gave my little girl a cold. I guess we shared too much. :rotfl2:

I bought mine at a party store for 15$ per 100. It worked out great, but my kids still wanted the motion lights that they sell. Still alot of fun. Oh I also used them in the hotel room as a night light. worked out great. Hope you have fun on your trip.

I was searching online for "glow bracelets" and came across these - they're sold as "bunny ears", but don't they kinda look like Mickey ears? (or am I too much in the Disney mode???) :)

They had 100 8" glow bracelets for $10 (not incl. S&H and taxes)

That's a great idea, I'll buy some too... and my little girl always want a little night lite... so much easier to carry... Thank's guys.

They look like perfect little Pooh ears, but in the dark I'd be thinking Mickey also.

Where did you find them in Walmart? I looked today, but I guess not in the right area.

Our Walmart has them in or near the camping gear. Occasionally they'll double-display some over in toys, too, but always in camping.

I brought a two pack of the necklaces to Disney last year. Once there I realized that I did not want to carry them all day in the park. It just so happened that the room next to us had two young girls, so that night when we returned, we activated the glow sticks, left them on the door knob, then knocked and left. It was fun listening to the girls when they opened the door and found them.

Friendly Frog - that is some really nice Disney magic.
