Has anyone had glow sticks and/or bracelets in their carry on luggage recently? Is it allowed?

TIA!

Not allowed, you'll have to put them in your checked bags.

Actually --- I had them in my carry on when I flew in February, and had no issues at all. I had a tube that had originally held 50 sticks, with about 20 sticks in it, wrapped in bubble wrap and tape (because I was paranoid about bending), in the backpack I took on the plane with me. I didn't pull them out separately, and I had no trouble getting through security at all.

Thank you for the posts!

I have a cardboard tube like you mentioned and I also have a few foil-type packages sealed from the factory with I think 5 or 6 necklaces in each of them.

I have heard mixed things. I am trying to avoid checking baggage. I might try it and just toss them if they won't let me take them on and buy more at the $Tree at our first stop.

You can always try, but they will throw them away if they find them.

Anything that has liquid is not allowed unless it is part of your liquids baggie.

\I also had a pack in my carry on - we went thru Ohare airport I fully expected them to be confiscated and thrown away - I was surprised - I kept them in the original container (black plastic bag - they were the smaller ones you put on a string not the fancy ones that break easy that go around the neck)

on the TSA website it says wine corkscrews are allowed - that was confiscated (and honestly I didnt even know it was in my carryon!!) (DH checked the website when we got home and we just laughed about the corkscrew!)

There may have been a small knife blade attached to the corkscrew. As far as the liquid-filled glow sticks....do yourself a favor and put them in your checked bag. As several PP have said, they need to be clearly marked with their ounce content, and, as they are not, MOST LIKELY would not be allowed in carry-on bags.

I work for TSA.

Off Topic:

After reading a few responses with people saying the label and weight has to be clearly marked, does this mean you are aloud to bring the spray sun screen in your carry on?

You can if you can find it in a bottle that is 100 ml or less. I've never seen it in bottles that small, though.

Thank you - and ITA

I really thought the bag of glow sticks would be confiscated (I couldnt find anything on tsa specifically about them - they were from the company in a clearly marked black bag - still sealed)

but that dern corkscrew - it was a tiny waiter's corkscrew - no knife it was a promotional gift from a winery but I didnt realize I had it in my bag!!

I fully support what TSA is doing - not an easy job!
