Glow Necklaces for two year olds?

I bought some glow necklaces at the Dollar store for our upcoming trip. The kids on the trip will be 5, 2, and 2 (we are traveling with another family). I'm wondering if the two year olds can have the glow necklaces? Neither of them are big chewers. Is that the main concern? Any thoughts? I really think they would enjoy the necklaces, but I don't want to do anything totally unsafe! Of course, we'll be right there with them while they are wearing them, so we can keep an eye on any unsafe activities!

It should say on the packaging that they are non-toxic. DD got one when she was 2 and she did bite it at one point, it apparently tastes nasty...but she was fine (she was glowing a little;) ) and she didn't bite them anymore after that!

I agree. They should be non-toxic but taste nasty. We got ours at the Dollar Tree and they definitely say NON-TOXIC on them.

My daughter never put things into her mouth that she was not supposed to (shoot, I couldnt even get her to put real food into her mouth LOL!) so I was fine with giving her glow necklaces. She has worn them on several occasions. She is about to turn three in a few days.

we used the princess ones that you switch on and off and the charm glows. we saw them again yesterday at the checkout stand near batteries at the HOme depot.

Last year, DS2 chewed his. He's never been the type to really chew, so we were surprised. It was at the end of the night waiting for the bus - His mouth was glowing green - I was scared, but did pull out the package & saw they are non-toxic. Just keep a good eye on the 2 yr old. We didn't let him have any more after that. We rinsed his mouth out w/ water to get rid of it.

I bought some at Dollar Tree last night. They say non-toxic. I just took one out to test it and I tried chewing on it and they seem quite durable! (I'm weird, I know!) I think I'm good with letting him have one now! I'm glad to hear other kids have chewed them and survived!

I bought some at Dollar Tree also, but haven't tried them yet. They are for my soon to be 2 year old DD. Has anyone tried the kind from Dollar Tree yet? Do they last long? I bought them a month ago for our trip first of June. Was that too soon?

I was thinking about picking some up at $ Tree today but since my DD4 has a bunch of other glow things I am still debating. As for safety, all the ones I have ever seen are NON-Toxic. After all they do make the ones that are actually MEANT to go in your mouth (that doesnt mean you are SUPPOSED to bite them open) but the ravers still do so their whole mouth glows. BTW , my now 21 yr old DD says they taste NAAAAASSSSTTTYYY!!!!. It was kinda cool watching her grimace while her mouth glowed this neat shade of green. She never tried that again...LOL OH, she was 16 at the time...lol
