GLOW II: The Bounceback... Multiple Meets!!!.. First 1/2 of Sept 2008

heath-and-javens-mom, could I be your surrogate mom instead as even me, ancient that I am, is not quite old enough to be even your, young as you are, grandmother. I will clear the couch off immediately. Egg custard coming right up.

:lmao: :rotfl:
Linda, I would take that any day.
I would never ask your age, and It is very unlikley that you WOULD be old enough to be my grandma- it just sounded sooo nice.

surrogate mom works great!!;) :goodvibes

My dgs called me last night and told me that he had went to school and when he turned over his meds to the school nurse and told her what he had she did not bat an eyelash...
Good to hear...but is he in any pain/discomfort???

I thought you were adopting me?!?!? Hmmm...I always wanted a sister....
Kristineamb, check your son for pin feathers. I believe my gs has them as that is all he has eaten his entire life. His younger brother is a gourmand, picky in other ways. There are weeks that I spend more of my food budget on food for them than for us.

DS is a meat and potatoes boy...literally...he eats any kind of meat, fish, chicken, potatoes, pasta but won't touch fruits and veggies! We tried to scare him by telling him he was going to get scurvy! :scared:
Despite his diet he is actually a very healthy kid! :goodvibes

H&J, you did not offend me in any way. :lovestruc I just turned 60 and this trip is in celebration of the fact that I made it that far. I am proud of my age as there have been few, if any, folks in my family who have made it that far. Besides I am so immature that I appear younger. :rotfl:

SG/Mom to the world and other planets

Diva Kristin, if it were up to me I would have this house overflowing with children, adopted or whatever. My husband barely let me keep ours so that will not be happening. Luckily I live across the street from a Community Center with loads of little kids that they kindly allow me to play with and teach to read. I will be their librarian this year. BTW, I am a sister to folks as young as you. My mom was prolific. :rotfl:

A word to the wise, telling your ds that he will get scurvy will not work. At his age he associates that with pirates pirate: and he would love that! I would just sneak in some of that V-8 juice that tastes more fruity than veggie. If that fails, use a funnel and put some in an empty juice or soda can. Watch out, he might want an earring AND a pegleg next! Always something. Kids do not bore. :dance3: BTW, I used to hide ground up veggies in my meatloafs, casseroles, meatballs and anywhere else I could think of. I even have a chocolate pudding that takes pumpkin. I am sneaky, very sneaky.:woohoo:

I like the way you think! :thumbsup2 Once made mashed cauliflower and told him it was mashed potatoes! He ate it (smothered in gravy of course!)

Kristineamb, I do a low carb diet and I take three bags of frozen cauliflower, cook it to death and then strain ALL of the water out. Toss in a chunk of FF cream cheese, whip it up and there you have low carb Faux Mashed Taters. I prefer to the real thing, if I can remember what the real thing tastes like anymore.

I make my veggie meatloaf, a big heap of those Taters, dash of gravy and a pile of green beans and forget I am dieting. :cloud9:

Bonz, I am double D-delighted to hear that you have OFFICIAL news that all is well! Guess good things DO happen to nice people.:thumbsup2

Forgive me for not remembering this but is your mom coming with you on this trip? If so, she is more than welcome to hang out with Lucy and I as we are not going to be moving too fast.

so glad it all came out good. DIS prayers - truly a magical thing :thumbsup2 .

Just wanted to check that you have my confirmation # for the CP breakfast ADR on 9/6? And, don't want to say it too loud but, I think I have Le Cellier ressies for 2 at 5:30ish on 9/7 up for grabs. Another kind DISer gave me her 6:20s for that night (they're for 4 but I don't think that's an issue) & I don't need 2 different times. Anybody here want them? I'm afraid of the frenzy I might set off posting them on the exchanges thread :scared1: .

Gail

I just got an email from Destinations offering rooms for as little as $54 a night this Fall! Seems like that is a low price for that time of year. Wonder what my favorite time will cost, right after Thanksgiving? A gal can dream. :cloud9:

Bonz, maybe next year? If we can coordinate times she could ride with me, or both of you could. I need all the help I can get ya know.:rotfl:

I will post here tomorrow night, if I am not too worn out. Otherwise I will report in Friday. I have been studying all day long so I should do well.
