Please help - we're leaving in 6 days and I want to bring glo-bracelets for my dd and ds for the Spec. Parade and Wishes. I want to put a couple in my carry-on since we may not have our luggage by the time we head out to the park. Has anyone else done this? Will they let me through security? Should I leave the bracelets sealed in their original packaging? What about checked bags; I wanted to bring a few more in my luggage for the next few nights. ...Will they have to open my suitcase or do you think they're familiar with these things?
The package says they contain 2 mL total (well under the 3oz rule.) I have called TSA and the airline twice and gotten a couple of different answers. Basically they didn't know what would happen at security.
Sorry for all the specific questions...I just really want to know if anyone has had any experience with this. Trying to save a few dollars by not having to buy them there, and then waste the money I saved if they have to throw them away! :upsidedow
Thanks! :cutie:

Will they roll up into a ziplock? If so, I'd bring them in the packaging that shows <3oz. and with a spare ziplock and ask TSA which way they prefer. Even better if they'll roll up in a ziplock while still in their packaging.

You can pack as many as you like in your checked bags, that is what we do.

If you want to carry some onboard they do contain liquid so they have to be 3oz or less and fit into a one quart zip lock bag. A few of the bracelets "may" fit but it could be a tight squeeze and you probably can't fit anything else. You can have one 3-1-1 ziplock for each person so that could "belong" to one of the kids if your bringing other liquids.

If they don't fit I would either purchase the sticks that you can thread a lace to make a necklace or skip them the first night.

Clearing secuirty is IMHO not the time to call attention to yourself. If they are not less than 3oz and/or are not in the bag they will be confiscated and you may be subject to additional screening.

Here is the link to the TSA website that addreses bringing liquids onboard:

We always bring ours in checked luggage, in packaging, never had an issue. We bring the ones from the Dollar Store that come in a tube (so they don't crack in transit and become useless).
