Globalfest Fireworks Competition used Epcot Music !!!(added video!)

I posted this on the Canadian Board but just wanted to share with my you guys too!
Hey guys!

Just got back from the fireworks competition and tonight's entry was from Canada. So we were sitting there and the music was starting to play....boom........boom........boom....boom...boom..boom
(Rob says: Hey, sorta sounds like Illuminations music)

boom! dah danana dah.....
(Cass says: HEYYYYYYYYYYY this IS Illuminations music!!!!!!!!!!!"

I couldn't believe it! At first I was like hmmm ...are they allowed to play that???? Then I got into it, was singing it (like most of you I'm sure, since I own the soundtrack from the Millenium Celebration, we know every single note by heart) and then really really enjoyed a little bit of Disney at home!!!

They did a really good job with the choreography but it was weird seeing different fireworks with that music!

So...it ends and then the next part comes up and.....


HEY!!!!!!!!! It's TAPESTRY OF DREAMS MUSIC!!!!!!!!!!!! It was awesome!!

Oh Cass, that is so nice!!!!!!!! I miss Tapestry sooooo much, it was great hearing it, and seeing with fireworks was different and neat. It was cool hearing you guys humming a bit too, felt like I was there with you, VERY neat. How can you not hum along??? And what a super fireworks display!!!! They really outdid themselves. What was this show part of??? A competition?? How long does it run???

Thanks Dan for a great reply! It's part of Global Fest held here every year in Calgary. The main part is the Fireworks Competition with competitors from Canada, Japan, China, Autralia and India I believe.

Tonight is the Finale , which is designed by someone else other than the participants and it should be good!

It's only $5 for each show and it's held at this huge open park with a lake. The only problem is that there is little parking and the area gets so congested! I heard last night that there were over 22000 tickets sold plus there were thousands set up just outside the park! Whew! It took us awhile to get there and back!

Looking forward to tonight's show!!

Cass, thanks for posting that. And after all these years of "talking" to you, I finally got to hear your voice. LOL

You made me reach for my Millennium Celebration CD that I haven't played in quite a while. It's now in the pile of things to pack for this weekend at the Cape. Gee, wonder how many times we'll play it while sitting in traffic tomorrow night.

GlobalFest 2004 has now concluded.


The winner of the International Fireworks Competition is Canada. Brad Dezotell of Fireworks Spectacular has won the Competition the second year in a row and will not be returning in 2005 according to Competition Rules.
