Glitch in the new system - 190 Day ADRs?

I have been successful in booking ADRs while exploiting this glitch. I have only two days until I can legitimately book the Fantasmic dinner package. My initial relief, however, is now being replaced by paranoia and guilt.

I justified my actions by rationalizing that damage had already been done to those trying to book legitimately since the glitch, and could not be undone by any cancellation of the "glitch ADRs". If I wanted to avoid the fate of those unaware of this opportunity, I concluded, I had to act.

I now live with the guilt of knowing I've gained advantage over others, and paranoia from the fear that my Darwinian actions will be undone by Disney.

Is there a real fear that my reservations will be flagged and cancelled?
Should I just rebook lesser ADRs when My 180+ comes up in two days and put this all behind me?
Is there a support group I can join?

I would truly love to get back to lamenting my World Cup Pool picks and finalizing my summer reading list.

Atonement for your sins will require penance in hte form of riding IASM repeatedly for an hour :rotfl2:

Pumbaa_ I am pretty sure that the punishment for everyone who makes their ADRs as soon as the computer system allows them is being stoned while continuously riding IASW isn't it? Doesn't seem like just riding it would be punishment enough. ;) :rotfl:

In all seriousness, do not worry about your ADRs once you hit 180 days. Everyone else has been just fine, and I am sure yours will be fine as well.

Now you better head out and toughen up for that stoning. :rotfl2:

Well, since this is the restaurant board, I would have thought that a vacation filled with "yummy" Disney-brand pizza would have been a more appropriate punishment :p. Maybe the pizza, while on IASW, while being pelted with rocks would work...

But yup, the plausibility is out there, but if it hasn't been done yet the probability is very low. I could have seen them doing it in the first day or two of the glitch being discovered (and at the same time, rolling back the update on the live site), but not after several weeks with no fix.

I'm very confused as to why this keeps being called a "glitch." I put in the date I wanted which was 190 days out (I did this everyday for 6 days-December 12th-17th). This popped up a message that said to login if you wanted to book at this time; that as a resort guest your were permitted to do so. I put in my actual reservation number and my actual check in date. That date automatically changed to a date within the 180 days. Then I could proceed as normal with the date/restaurant I wanted to book. I didn't "fudge" anything. I recieved all of my e-mail confirmation numbers and printed out the whole list at the end of the week. In fact after I did all this, I purchased The Complete Walt Disney World 2010 book(Neal) and it said, "Reservations can be made 180 days in advance (190 for Disney resort guests)." So I really wouldn't worry about anything being cancelled as I just think this may be a perk that is not really being publicized.

It's my turn tomorrow for 190 days. If you were able to do this, what time did you start? Midnight? 7 am? In between?

Thanks for the levity guys.

By the way, I have something to add to the being stoned, while eating Disney pizza, while eternally riding "the happiest cruise that ever sailed 'round the world ---- South African Vuvuzela horns!

6:00 am eastern time (easy for you). Although several times in recent weeks it has gotten off to a slow start. But begin trying at 6:00 am. When it works properly you can do it rather quickly. Good luck.

It's called a glitch because the current publicized method is 180+10, meaning you can book up to 10 days of ADRs at 180days before check-in. This totals 190days in, um total, but not the same meaning that we've been seeing here.

Here, you can book up to 190days out before dining date, no matter of check-in. You can even enter a fake resort confirmation and book those extra days (which, therefore allows off-site guests to do the same).

Compared with on the phone (or using the "old" system for CRT and dinner shows) which only allow you 180+10. It will continue to be considered a glitch until it's either fixed, or Disney states their intentions to be a pure 190 instead of 180+10.

As far as your actual check-in date reverting back to one within 180, that's interesting (it didn't used to do that). It seems like a temporary fix for a bigger problem though. (And not a very good fix, I might add).

I do want to say that, since it's been going on this long, I suspect Disney will come up with some spin, namely an unannounced trial period or a method to get more people to beta test ;). You'd think they'd train their phone CMs on it, but heh, phone CM training is laughable at best.

Thanks Kathy. And now a followup. I'm not sure I'm understanding the 190 concept. Can I book my entire length of stay meals or just the one that 190 days out? I thought the previous poster wrote that you can just make up a fake resort reservation number to get the +10. Seems worth it to beat getting on the computer every morning at 6 am this wee to book a meal when I can do all of them at once.

i am at 190 days tomorrow .. yayyy! i am so excited to make our ADRs!!! i know CRT doesn't do 190 days (it is strictly 180 days), but what are the other places that i need to wait for?

I have been trying for 4 days to book for our Dec. trip, and it would not let me book even at 190 days....our 180 day mark is June 22...it let me book today ( the 15th-which is 186 days out) for Dec. 22, but I haven't been able to book anything farther than that, and I have a legit. Conf. #.....

I am not complaining, just explaining that for me, I will obviously have to check in every day and see what it will allow, until 180 days, when I can book everything anyway....still nice to get a head start so I know what is taken care of and what needs to be shifted around...popcorn::

The 190 day booking is 190days from date of dining. You would have to get up every morning if looking to book at 190 days.

Now, don't let me confuse you (I have a tendency to do that :)). The fake number was a test I ran to see what was going on with the site. It allowed me to book 190 days out, just like entering a real one would. If you have a real confirmation number, use that :).

CRT should be 180+10. Online has been finicky lately though for it so you may need to call for that one on 180 days before check-in.

Other things that need to wait are:

  • Fantasmic Packages - Since they are phone call only
  • CP Packages - Well, you have to wait for those as they are not released yet ;).
  • CRT - Mentioned above. CRT is still on the "v1" website and as such is not prone to the glitch that we see in the v2 website.
  • Hoop Dee Doo Revue, Spirit of Aloha (Luau at the Poly), and Mickey's Backyard Barbecue - all 3 of these are also not on the v2 website and as such much be booked at 180+10.
A special note for CRT and the Dinner Shows, the v1 website that they are under seems a bit finicky since the new site went up, as such, there have been several reports that people could not book them online under 180+10 (I'm thinking the same validation issue is present, only it's the opposite way and auto-sending a false rather than a true). These will likely need phone calls as well.

Have you tried using today's date as your check-in instead of your real or "the last available" one? That has seemed to work for some folks. Other than that, not much I can offer :(.

"Have you tried using today's date as your check-in instead of your real or "the last available" one? "

I don't see a prompt for the "last available date" and I missed this step. Where is it? And I can't seem to link it to my dining plan. Disney Dining said it was above the "date and time". Can someone please do a screen grab for me. I think it's the reason why I cannot book any ADR other than just 190 days (12/23).

Thank you so much to everyone who has posted advice. I really appreciate it. (hug)

When you select the 22nd of December, the computer will say that is more than 180 days out and ask you to log in.

Enter your email address, a confirmation number, and when prompted by the computer to enter the date you're checking in, leave it as 6/16/10.

You then should have no problem checking for availability & making reservations 190 days from today.

I booked mine each day beginning at 190 days out and always entered my confirmation # and my real check-in date. Sometimes I "barely noticed" that when I clicked to proceed that the system would change my check-in date to the last available date. But since I am the paranoid type, when I reached my real 180 days before arrival date I went online and rebooked everything. All the ADRs I wanted were still available, even Le Cellier for early lunch; although some were 5 or 10 minutes different from my original bookings. The system worked properly and always showed that I had another reservation near the same time and asked if I wanted to cancel the original, which I did.

"Last available date" isn't a UI option as such. What I meant by that was the last date that was available on the calendar. I'll clarify this in my future wordy responses :).

Thanks Tricia. I was able to do that exactly as you wrote. I was trying to book for Dec 24, 25, etc. and wasn't able and thought I read that others were able to book all their ADRs in one shot. And I still can't link to my reservation. All I get is an error message. Guess I'll be up early again tomorrow.

Minnie Mi, that's the downside to the 190 days. It's a flat amount of time. So you're right that you'll be calling every day as there is no 190 +10.

Well, all of my ADRs are made, and I managed to get everything we wanted thank to the glitch. I made our last ADR this morning for Cinderella's Royal Table because we are at 180 from it today. I just wanted to report that while I was able to make an ADR for it online, I ended up having to call in because it wanted me to pay in full with my credit card even though I had logged in with my reservation number that should indicate we're on the Deluxe Dining plan. The CM that I talked to told me not to worry and that the dining plan should show up on my other reservations or the waitstaff will just see it on our KTTW cards when we use them at the meals. I hope we don't have any problems with this once we're there :(
