Glitch in the new system - 190 Day ADRs?

People are booking 190 days out each day. So the person checking in on December 8th is going online to make their reservation(s) for that day. They'll go online tomorrow to book December 9th.

It's an online only glitchy perk.

Thanks - gotcha now - that was the only way I could see it affecting the fairness. I would totally hate if it went to that kind of thing - I will be very grumpy if I have to get up at 6 AM 10 days in a row.

the current glitch isn't 190 + 10, it is just 190. So yes, the downside is that you have to call 7 days in a row (or however many days you are going). But it is more fair because it is just a straight 190 days for everyone staying onsite.

does that make sense?

of course, it might just be a glitch, not an intentional change. I do prefer it, however. (regardless the updates certainly need some software fixes right now, as it currently stands)

I wouldn't be thrilled either.

I need to make my reservations next month and seriously hope it's fixed before then.

Can anyone explain how 190 days is more fair than 180+10 because I keep seeing people say that?

I don't see that it's fair at all since WDW advertises 180 days as the allowed reservation time. Those folks who don't read these boards are getting shutout of some reservations because some were lucky enough to book early.

Everybody who said it was more fair said it would only be more fair if it was communicated to everyone. :goodvibes:

I'm not sure I understand - Le Cellier is notorious hard to get, especially during the first part of a stay (under the "old" 180 + 10, as those reserving before you already got it)

So you think that the one person above you who read about the 190 days change (which no one knows if it is permanent or not) is the reason you cannot book Le Cellier for your entire stay?

Isn't Le Cellier already the hardest to book?

No, I don't think one person caused this issue, I think many folks who knew about the glitch complicated the issue and expect many were making those hard to get reservations. I also understand some times will be held for the CP packages, but there has to be something else going on when there is not one reservation available during an entire week's stay when trying to book the minute when available.

As stated before, that's always been the case with LeCellier. I too was shut out of LeCellier the day my reservations opened, and I called in immediately when the dining line opened.

It's been really hard to get for as long as I've been trying to book it. (2007 and on)

Not trying to complain, just glad to know this was a glitch and should not happen every time.

I do have to disagree with one point - Le Cellier did not used to be THIS difficult to reserve until the Dining Plan became available. I think if WDW makes it a two credit meal like many believe it should be (based on price) reservations will become more available.

I don't really care which system is the final result, I just wish they would fix it! I will gladly wait til 180+10 days, but if others are booking at 190, I feel like I have to also or I will lose out on reservations I want. But it really doesn't give me a warm fuzzy to beat out other vacationers just because they may not have the time to read message boards so often, or because they want to make reservations by phone (which is still only at 180 if I understand correctly). I just want them to fix it so that everyone is playing by the same rules.

AMEN! :worship:

Well, if there was a glitch, it is "un"glitched now.. I have check the reservation system 3 or 4 times today - just for the heck of it and it denies anything greater then 180 day out..

190 still works perfectly fine for me, I was able to reserve lunch and dinner on December 8th. I have confirmation #s and emails. I wonder if you have an older browser that doesn't work with the beta version?

I have some version of Firefox, it looks like version 3.6.3

Weird...I have Win7 IE8 and firefox 3.6 both grey out anything more then 180 for actual reservations. Sure I can shove the calender to December 8 but it says no way - this is 180 days greater then your arrival date...hmmm, I will try when I get home on another system

DH saw this thread and made all our ADRs 2 days ago (today is our actual day for a Nov 28 check in).

I just called WDWDine and they checked all mine to be sure, and they said I should have no problems since I have confirmation numbers for everything

I was a bit surprised the CM had no clue about this glitch (or change?) by now. I would have figured they would have had a memo or something, lol.

Did you log in with your resort reservation number first? If I go to the website it won't let me book past 180 but once I sign in then I can.

on mine, I get a pop-up little calendar thingie. it is grayed out AFTER December 8th. One new day appears each day, at exactly 190 days. It works the same on my mac and my pc.

maybe try unblocking pop-ups? it says "java" down in the corner then I get the little calender thingie (sorry I'm not technical!)

The resort confirmation check-in only allows up to 180 days. If you put in that as your check-in date, it will open up the extra days. (No, it shouldn't have any effect on your actual resort reservation).

On another note, are those making either 180 or 190 day reservations getting the wording about the dining plan? Something along the lines of "You may pay for this meal with your Disney Dining Plan" when you book? Just digging a little deeper into how the interaction between resort and dining.

The calendar "pop-up" is not your traditional old-style pop-up window that the blockers catch. It's a piece of Javascript (a subset of Java, which focuses on scripting to produce executable ("runnable") pieces of a web application) that displays a piece of a page within the current page. Different from the traditional popups that display a different page in a while new (albeit controlled) window. There's quite a bit more technical stuff behind it, but I'll spare you some :).

And... hmm. In looking into the page (figures, I saw this in source view before normal view...)

WDW Dining Reservations - Link your resort reservation page said:
Why you should confirm

Guests who have a Resort hotel reservation can book dining reservations more than 180 days before their stay.
The wording of "more than 180 days before their stay" suggests that I very well may be wrong in my initial assumption (though, since the page accepts both false dates and false confirmations, it's still broken :p). The plot thickens ;).

I made 180 day ADR's this morning. I don't recall it saying anything about the dining plan. When it went to my info page (during the reservation process) it did have everything filled in (ie. address, phone number etc). The system could have pulled that from my WDW site profile though.

ETA: it was 6:00 am though and I could have just overlooked anything blurbs about the dining plan because I already have it & know I can use it to pay for my meals
