Glitch in system or All booked up??

Our friends are thinking about coming to WDW with us!! Hooray, right? Happy Dance, right??

Maybe not...

Logged on to disneyworld.com to do a little research for them. You know, how much does this hotel cost, or that one, etc.

The only thing showing up at all is a Fort Wilderness Cabin. Every other request I put in comes back as not being available for those dates or party size. Now, it's a party of four, with two adults and two young kids, so it's not an unusual request.

So I'm wondering if all the hotels in Disney World could be completely sold out for Feb 4-9, or if there's some kind of glitch in the system.

Because I'm having some serious doubts about going to the World if they're going to be packed solid.

That does seem odd, considering that the crowd calendar is predicting very low crowds for your dates.

I would call the 800-number, it seems like the website suffers from so many glitches!

Also, most of the wholesalers (like Expedia, etc.) usually don't release any unsold inventory back to Disney until at least 30 days out (and sometimes less). Don't forget to check at the 45 day point (if it hasn't passed yet) as well as the 6 day point, when the last minute cancellations come in.

It seems like Disney would suffer by having this type of "glitch", because people wanting to book vacations wouldn't be able to.

I just went to the wdw official website and it gave me a choice of 26 hotels.

Maybe you entered something wrong.

The hotels will all come up but once you click on a specific one it will say unavailable.

I just checked and you are right, only Ft wilderness available. I know it's not a glitch because at first I accidentally put in Dec 08 Instead of Feb and everything was available. Also I put in that it was for one person and Coronado Springs did come up in Feb but only for a king bed.

There are fewer and fewer slow times anymore.

I just posted about this and found the same thing you did. We looked at dates for Jan. 17-22 and Feb. 7-12 and found nothing except Ft. Wilderness cabins -- far more than we want to spend on somewhere where we're only going to spend a few hours sleeping!!!!!! I figured it had to be a glitch but I called the 1-800 number and found out that there's nothing for that time frame. What is going on!??! I'm avoiding March and April b/c of Easter/Spring Break and don't want to go in May b/c we'll be going again in Aug. I really don't want to skip our usual winter trip but it's looking like we might have to. I am so bummed b/c this is what helps me get through those winter blues!!!!!!

I just checked Expedia and they have the Values listed but, for some strange reason, they don't allow check in on the date I requested. Unreal.

And, they're not opening the new portion of POP (Golden years?) because ....????

You are looking at 2 very busy times. MLK day and the week before president's day weekend. Presidents day time off varys by state/school district but that whole week can get nasty.

Yes, please call, and let us know what they said!! Our dates are from Feb. 1-9, so I'm curious to see how crowded it will be. (We've been booked for a good while.)

As I mentioned in my above post, I did call CRO and the wonderful CM who took care of me said they did not have any availabilities for Values at all in Feb. that carried through a weekend. She couldn't tell me why they were so booked - no mention of cheer competition or whatever. She added that the other resorts (POR, CBR) were filling up fast, too. Looks like a crowded Feb. at WDW!

I can understand that the resorts might get crowded for a long holiday weekend, but we looked at some weekends that aren't even holiday based in Jan. and no luck! Someone mentioned Mardi Gras being a cause for the crowds but I've never had this difficult of a time booking a Jan. or Feb. trip at this point!!!!

i rebooked our trip from end of Feb to beginning, about 1 month ago, and the values were filling up quickly, we still have availablity for the first week of Feb. We had another couple coming with us, and they could not get the last week of Feb as all values were booked, so we changed to the first week of Feb while they still had availablitly.

We went with the last week in Jan, but not at the resort we wanted. The CM advised us to keep calling and after weeks of calling we were able to get preferred rooms at our choice. It seems it really is booked up.

Which resort did you try for the last week of Jan? I checked online and all the deluxes have a pretty good assortment of rooms?

We went through our dates with CRO and ended up with Jan 27 - Jan 31 as the dates we wanted. Since there are 6 of us, we always book 2 value rooms. We wanted preferred rooms at ASMo, but at the time (about 2 weeks ago) all the had for prefered was ASMu so we booked it. Just this week we called back and were able to get preferred at ASmo so we did get what we wanted, just took several calls.

I just logged in as a Travel Agent, and saw availability at Coronado Springs for Feb. 4-9. Try calling again.

If you really need a value, I would check back in a few days - you've just hit the 45 day out mark, and some people may be canceling their trips about now.

The OP needs a room with 2 beds. CSR has rooms but only with a King bed.
