the weather was great... this was my last hour at the park... had to go back to watch Carousel of progress one more time !!!!

We got back late last night. Had a great time, but my feet are killing me. Picked up my akita from the vet's a little while ago. I turned my back for just a minute and would you believe that stupid dog just grabbed three of my make your own pretzels rods snacks I got at Goofy's and ate them. That silly dog will eat anything! Oh, well we have plenty of snacks. We weren't able to use a single one while we were down there. THE DELUXE DINING PLAN IS TOOOOO MUCH FOOD!!! We didn't keep hardly any of our ADRs the last few days. We still had seven credits our last day and because we decided to use the last four for counter service for the airport, would you believe they gave us four coupons, each worth two more snack credits each? The one thing we did not need.

Who all booked the Bounce Back for next Sept? We booked for the exact same week hoping for the same low attendance. We have been the last several Septembers, but have never seen the parks as empty as they were.

Glad to meet up with everyone. Kat, Rich, and Adrian, I'll see you guys in January on the cruise. Glad everyone made it home safe.

Oh, a coworker called me earlier, to tell me that no one was allowed to call in at the hospital last week or this week, as it is considered to still be a disaster situation and all staff were required. Apparently all they got here was some wind and rain, but patients were evacuated from the Beaumont psychiatric hospitals to ours and we had to open up several closed units to accommodate them. Staffing is overtretched. Coming home from Dallas late last night there were big signs everywhere telling people not to travel to Beaumont or Houston as there was no gas available down there. Gas went up almost 20 cents/gallon while I was gone.

When we were at MK after CP breakfast, around noon we ran into the gang and they said you guys were at another ADR already! I couldn't imagine. I think the regular DDP was too much food for me, I'd never be able to do the deluxe.

Pretty much work, work and work! I passed out Sat afternoon... woke up Sun only to go to work Sun. Work sucks!
Went back today to the kiddos only to endure kids clinging to me all day and saying Hi Kathy, Hi Kathy , Hi Kathy ALL DAY LONG! Gotta love those rugrats! They missed me!
So now my next goal is to save!! I need $$$$$$$ to fuel my Disney addiction! I'm not sure if my vacation next year at this time is gonna fly. But its booked so Oh Well!

I know you guys are dying for a good story.

So today was a fairly good Monday. I go to work at 8:10, I work all day, I had a nice slice of Pizza for lunch. I went to the gym after work with a coworker, then I went to the grocery store.

I got home at about 7pm, walked in the door to this:

Pardon the mess up there, that corner of the room is my "stash the DDR mat for whenever I actually get a television" and I also through my backpack of clothes to the side when I saw everything. The black thing is my coffee table from IKEA that I haven't gotten around to putting together.

Two sections of my living room ceiling are sideways and falling down. Debris all over the floor, and the ceiling beam is resting on the door frame. I am glad that the whole living room didn't fall down, since if my computer was out of commission, I'd probably be sitting here bawling instead of laughing about how Mondays suck. It seems like the drywall above the drop-down started chipping down and the weight of it is what made the drop-down fall. I took the pictures, cleaned up my floor, and left messages on the landlord's cell & home phone. Sigh.

Hi all-glad to hear that everyone had a great time and got home safely. I was worried with the weather so bad, but sounds like you had a ball and ate FAR too much-I'm just jealous-maybe next year. I'll be so ready for the cruise in January-been a long summer without any time off-not even one trip to the ocean, so I'll read all of your trip reports........

Remember Glenda......6 days til I see klofan, 5 days...4 days....haha. Just a little shout out, thats all I want! But antss, I'll give a report on it now!

At some point in the trip I thought about doing the DVC tour, just for fun. I wanted to see the rooms and just get an idea of the prices. So, on 9/10 at DTD, I passed the one of MANY kiosks, and just scheduled a tour. Of course I get the, but your so young, how do you afford this?! I said, not every person under 21 blows their money on alcohol and cigarettes. And I work off a base-pay and commission full-time. And definitely make more than you (of course I didn't say this, haha). But whatever, don't think what he said was a good pitch on DVC! So he scheduled me a tour on 9/11 at 12:40 pm. Someone was gonna pick me up in one of the DVC vans. So, the next day we literally go outside right at 12:40. About 20 minutes later, still no truck. I was thinking when he called for the pick up, he didn't actually call. So I went back into the POR lobby, and asked the DVC rep there if she could help. She told me it was put into the computer at 12:10, not 12:40. So, another reason to make me not wanna buy into DVC.

But anyway, a van comes in about 10 minutes and we're on our way to SSR. We went inside the DVC welcome center and I couldn't believe they had a whole building dedicated to just tours and sales! But, they gave us our name tags and we were offered refreshments until a guide showed up to do a tour. Her name is Karen. She is great. And the great part was, is that if I decided to buy now or in the future, I would keep her for as long as she stayed working for DVC. So, I was happy about that. But anyway, she went on the gist of DVC, and before you know it, we were in a golf cart to do the room tours. We saw SSR and AKV's villas. They were both awesome. Both very different, but great in their own ways. But anyway, I knew when I saw the rooms, I wanted this. And I didn't want to spend all my money on my deposit, but I knew my paycheck was coming in at midnight. So, when we went back to the welcome center to look at the prices/point charts, I told her I was going to buy, I just had to wait until tomorrow when my paycheck came through.

So, I scheduled tomorrow's appointment for 2:00 pm and the van actually came on time at 1:40 pm, haha. I guess cause they knew I was buying! When I went back to SSR, I met Karen again. And we went through the pricing and everything. She asked me for my deposit then left to do the finalization. Then I guess it was a manager who someone higher up in DVC to do the singing of my papers. I think I may have signed 20 times! But after about a half hour, I was all set. It was official! I now have 160 points at AKV and I'm so excited. I already have 2 trips planned with my 160 bonus points for recommending Glendamax! She got a 200 credit! And they also are giving me a 500 dollar visa gift card in about 30 days! So I'm excited about that. So anytime you guys wanna go? I'm in!
