Glenda's September 2008 WDW Adventure!

Southwest went down on my flight too!! Thanks for the heads up. I now have $184 towards a future trip:cool1:

No such luck for me - Delta not only went UP $35 on my flight (but at least I'm locked in at the lower fare), they added a 3 hour layover in Atlanta to my "non-stop" return flight! :scared1:

Wow...They can do that? I thought if they changed anything they had to get you what you had (meaning non stop) But I guess they can do whatever they want. I am sorry they did that to you:hug:

I am glad Southwest has a hub out of Providence (my family lives in RI so I can drive down there and stay with them the night before). I keep hearing horror stories about Delta. >.<

Surprisingly, Delta has by far the best service between Hartford and Orlando. :yay: I usually take the 6 AM or 7:15 AM flight, and after all is said and done I'm in the Parks by 1 PM! :rotfl: :)

Ok so if we did right now I have

Me
My Mom
Nancy
Earl
Colleen

We are only half way there...plus the guy that is canceling said he is doing so because Illuminations is being scaled down for a rehab:confused3 Anyone heard about that?

If I have to pay more to make it happen, then so be it. I have no problem paying extra cause we'll probably pick up the rest by the time we leave.

Sorry, we can't make the Illumination cruise, but I can answer about the scaled down Illuminations question. Supposedly the globe is going under rehab for 4-6 weeks starting in mid August. Of course, that globe has been scheduled for rehab before and it was canceled, so who knows. I saw it on the Allears site, under Anita Answers. Somehow it's hard to imagine Illuminations without the globe:confused3 . Anyway, during that time Illuminations will be a scaled down version.

Rich, have you and Kat been keeping an eye on your flights for the January cruise? Colette told me her flight home had changed by several hours and my flight down there was changed to a couple of hours later. It's a good thing we are flying down a day early. I'd hate to miss the ship:scared: .

Our Air Tran flights both to and from WDW in Sept have been changed three times, so far. So far they are remaining nonstop though.

do you really want me to prove this GMAX???????????

I really wish you are near by I need a real hug!!!!!!!!!

Hey Antss! So sorry I didnt see this sooner! I guess I'll have to hug you everyday, when we see each other in September!!!

Hey Kids :) I'm home!!

Glenny, I didn't call you back because I am never sure when you are working or when a good time is.

We are leaving soooo soon!!!:cool1:

K, I am off to bed...I am EXHAUSTED!
Ok - I hope you had a good time. Email me soon!

Ok Rich!!! just make sure you put Gmax and me down on the list for all those Ride.. TOT... RNR... everything... I know GMAX wants to show Adrian a good time :goodvibes :lmao:
She didn't want me to say anything...but Gmax told me in confidence how excited she is to do all the "wussy" rides as she calls them. She laughed when I told her I was scared of ToT and Space Mountain...Piece of cake she said!!!!

Ok - I see that I REALLY need to watch the boards more! You all are having too much fun at my expense, while I'm away!!! I can't wait till I see the 2 of you NEXT MONTH!!! :stir:

Hey is anyone interested in doing an Illuminations cruise the night of the 11th???Someone is about to cancel one on the Theme Park board.
Yes, include me and my Mom.

Maybe you guys can give some advice. I'm debating if we need a rental car while we're in WDW. My brother keeps saying it's a really stupid idea, my mom doesn't really care either way. I originally rooted for one because we had most of our ADRs at resorts. Now that our ADRs have changed, I'm thinking we don't really need the car. (I have a reservation for $107 for the 5 days.)

9/5 - Flight arrives MCO @ 10:25am

9/5 - Lunch @ Coral Reef @ 1:20pm
9/6 - Breakfast @ Cape May Cafe @ 8:50am (Hollywood morning EMH, so I'm sure we can get a bus for this easily.)
9/7 - Dinner @ Le Cellier @ 4:20pm
9/9 - Breakfast @ Crystal Palace @ 8:10am (with Aubriee & co.!)

9/9 - Flight home @ 7:25PM

My biggest concern was Magical Express. I know it'll probably take the same amount of time with ME as a rental car to get to the hotel. I originally just wanted to leave from Magic Kingdom on 9/9 with the car and go straight to the airport. You know.. just from typing this all out I'm pretty sure I'm going to scrap the car. :rotfl: We're staying at All-Stars so there should always be a bus coming by, and they are already air conditioned so no hot car.

The things you think about when lying in bed with insomnia. :upsidedow

:lmao: You know you love me :)

Ok with you and your Mom that will be 7. If we don't get 3 more than it would be $42 a piece. If anyone else wants in let me know, and if you guys think $42 a piece is ok, then let me know too. I don't want to take the cruise away from someone else if we aren't sure.

I love renting a car because sometimes you just never know...once it took my mom and I 2 hours to get from the Magic Kingdom back to our resort. Plus I usually get a pretty good deal. I have a mid-size SUV for 8 days for only $168 including tax!!!

Be glad you still have a flight. They bumped me off of mine on the 6th and now I am coming down on the 5th of Sept. instead. The flight times going down for the 6th had changed 5 times for me and this time the girl I spoke with was a nasty person and she said either you can come in late on the 6th which was not good for me or come in a day earlier or day later.

Nope!! (Even though I do have AAA). It's with Alamo using this code:

Print this page, use the provided coupon code and pay for the rental with your Visa card to save up to 20% plus get $25 off when you rent a specialty vehicle (convertible, minivan or SUV) for at least 3 days in the United States. Valid through 10/31/08.

Don't forget about the tip. I was reading up on the cruise and from what I've read a tip is expected. I think $5-$8 a person should do it. I was a bartender for years so I'm always concerned about the tip.

My car (mid-size Pontiac G6) is for 5 days, $107 with Alamo. I used the Walmart code (430710) which also includes an extra driver (though I'm under 25 so it doesn't cover me). I also used a $25 coupon they had on their website for a weekly rental.

I want the car because I hate waiting, but my brother thinks it's a stupid idea. Oh well, I have time to decide..

23 Days!!!!!

25 days and counting! A co-worked went and got me the HD paint samples in EVERY color. We put 25 on my white board and will take one off each day. I am so excited.

Oh and guess what? I might get to head back to Orlando 10/21 for work (at Universal though :( )

Try going to www.dollar.com for Dollar Rent-A-Car and use corporate code oi1054 (Orlando Magicard - be sure to go to www.orlandomagicard.com and print out a card to show at the rental place) - we got a compact for a week for $148. :teacher:

And Dollar is SO convenient - the Pick-Up / Drop - Off is in the parking garage directly across from the Dollar Rental counter, which in turn is directly downstairs from the baggage claim area at Orlando International Airport. :cool1: :woohoo:
