Day 3 cont.
Tues. 9/11
In the last installment, I was sitting with my feet propped up,
Crocs off, enjoying a Dole Whip float, and getting my picture taken. I really wanted to remember this moment of leisure!
While this photo was being taken, I noticed someone behind the photographer. It happened to be DISer Skater - the "mystery DISer" from last year's report!
Here's Skater with her daughter, and one of her sons. Had I noticed how much she and her daughter looked alike, I would've taken a better pic of just the two of them! It must be cool for Skater to see her younger-self everyday!
When they first came over, I got up and hugged everyone, then sat back down. Skater's eldest son came over to chat, and when he leaned on the table, my whole Dole Whip Float flipped over on the table, and spilled all over the place! It happened sooo fast! We all started cleaning up the mess, and Mr. Skater, bought me another one!
I guess we should sue Disney for lop-sided tables!
They told me that they saw me earlier at Peter Pan, and even called me but I didnt hear them. It was later that day that I remembered thinking while I was on PP, "Man Glenda you must be tired because you think you hear some child calling your name"!
Man! I wished I turned around!
It was really great seeing them again, after bumping into them a few times last year. But unlike me being solo, they had an agenda to follow, and were soon on their way!
We did take a group photo with Skater, and her younger son too, but I guess we only took it on her camera! Man!
After they left, my friend Kim told me that she was pulling into MK's parking lot. I told her where I was and waited . . . and waited . . . and waited . . .
Finally, an hour later, they were just walking onto main street. By this time, I was hot and tired. So I took a quick pic, and said goodbye!
Kim told me that the kids had just awakened, and could care less about the castle, or Magic Kingdom at that point!
After a refreshing break in the room, I changed into a white shirt and black shorts, to match up with DISer Eeyore's Tiara and family. That night was black and white night.
I went to meet them at Hollywood and Vine Restaurant in MGM. This time, DISer Paula was meeting us too! When I got there, I only saw Paula, so I called ET, and waited. After trying to call her again, I remembered that I still had my original reservation there, so I checked in. By the time they called us, ET still hadn't arrived
I told the hostess to let me know when they got there, and told her that they would have on black and white.
Meanwhile, Paula and I were seated and started to eat. While we were eating, the hostess told us that they were there, but were seated on the other side of the restaurant. Then, the man sitting next to me, asked if I was on the site. When I told him that I was, he said that we were on alot of the same threads. His screen name is "William" with something at the end of it. He was there with his wife or girlfriend. They looked very cute in matching Mickey shirt, and sundress. We chatted for a long time. William had scratched his eye earlier, and it was getting worse. And in a few days, they were going on a cruise. So William if you're out there, please let me know if your eye got any better, I really felt sorry for you!
After chatting, and before getting more food, Paula and I went over to ET and family. We chatted a bit and decided to meet at Fantasmic that night. Before going back to my table, ET gave me a pink shirt she made me with Cinderella and Prince Charming on the left, and my name stitched over the picture of them. Really cute!
Dinner was just ok. I was glad that they still served the spooned corn bread. That is soooooo good!
After dinner, Paula and I said our goodbyes. She still had a week or more left in Orlando before going back home to England. I hope she had a great time, and was able to drive well to Busch Gardens on the "wrong" side of the road!
After we split up, I decided to look in the Animation section. While there, I saw the Walt Disney exhibit and another one about the development of animated characters. I still think its odd that more isnt mentioned about Ub Iwerks who created Mickey Mouse.
Soon it was almost time to see Fantasmic with ET and fam. They were in The Great Movie Ride, so I waited for them by the exit. While sitting there, I noticed people walking to the exit. I looked up, and the sky was BLACK! I mean, Ten Commandments, Raiders of the Lost Arc BLACK! I got up, and called ET as I was walking to the bus stop. After getting caught in the pouring rain the night before, I didnt want to do it again.
After I got on the FREEZING COLD ARTIC bus, a few others started running. It had started to rain - I'd made it just in time. But that little bit of rain was nothing compared to the night before!
By the time I got to my room, my throat was sore, and I felt tired. I fixed some tea, and dropped some Air Borne in it.
Final Thoughts:
It was a nice day, but I regret that I didnt get to spend more time with ET and family, espicially since I was finally matched up with them! Also, I HAVE to remember to take pics of DISers! I saw so many, but dont have the pics to prove it!
Great trip report!!! Can't wait for more. I am going to be doing Disney solo so I love to read about others experiences.
And already writing.....you are my hero
...sure glad it wasn't while I was at WDW. I'm enjoying your trip report and can't wait for the next installment.
) Since I always get my hair braided before going on vacation, I'll never get to wear one while in The World.
