Hey everybody! I wear glasses and I am getting new ones soon and I want to make sure that I get Disney approved glasses I know all the Disney Look stuff but I was wondering if I can get transition lenses or prescription sunglasses because I figure I will be outside a lot and it will be sunny there! Any help would be wonderful! Thanks Guys!

Hello! Wow, this would be my first time answering a question on this forum. Well, anyway, on to your question: Yes, you are allow prescription/transitional glasses as long as they are natural in color and is not too big or colorful. Natural colors can be brown, clear, black, tan, etc. Hope that helps in answering your question.

Disney wants guests to be able to see your eyes, so as long as your glasses are natural in color and guests can see your eyes behind them, then they are okay. They don't like colorful or tinted glasses.

Does that mean that even in outdoor positions we cannot wear sunglasses? I am doing transportation and I have a feeling I will be doing the boats because of my past experience but without sunglasses, the glare off the water will drive me nuts so any help is appreciated.

You're allowed to wear sunglasses outdoors. Guests just have to be able to see your eyes. They can't be extremely dark (lightly tinted with UV protection, but not jet black), and they can't be extremely big (like those huge bug glasses that cover half your face).

As for regular glasses. I have a black pair and a dark blue pair that I wore last time. Again, as long as they're not distracting from the eyes (no hot pink, sparkly, etc.), they should be totally fine.

Hmm...technically, they are supposed to be a neutral color...I'd ask at check in, but be prepared with contacts in case they say not to wear them at work.

I have bright pink glasses. Needless to say, I have an extra "Disneyfied" pair of glasses. I highly recommend taking advantage of any 2 pair for $100 glasses offers before you go, just in case your glasses break. That way you have a back up pair (mine broke when I was there in Dec, visiting all my friends). And it is SOOOOO much easier getting them done at home than in Orlando. I knew someone who had to get them replaced. Insurance, prescription--its a hassle.

Still a natural shade, but a much more vivid color than eyes usually look. Should I be worried? I love my green contacts, and hate to give them up, especially since I'm probably going to be working indoors. But I'd also hate to get down there with a four month supply of contacts, only to find out that I can't wear them!

I say go for them. It sounds fine, just be sure to have appropriate sunglasses for when you're outside

I have green contacts too. Only I have huge dark brown eyes haha. But those who don't know my natural color don't know they are contacts.

I have glasses like that too except when I'm in the sun the frames change from brown to blue I wonder if that's ok I might just get new ones. I'm glad this thread was started because I forgot that I wear glasses everyday since i'm so used to seeing them on my face they just seem like a natural part of me lol.

Those look like the black ones I wore to work. They should be fine.

I actually asked my recruiter this since I have transitions, and yes, they are fine if guests can see your eyes. Basically they don't want something like a mirror. As for colored lenses, idk. If you have prescription lenses that are tinted a certain way (for example, I've seen people with yellow prescription lenses), then I should hope so since it affects your ability to work.

The type of sunglasses question has been answered, but I wanted to add that if you engage in a full conversation with a guest, then it's requested you remove your sunglasses. If you're just answering what time the 3pm parade is then you can keep them on.

I have worked on the trams in California and during the summer i wear my Oakley half jackets, black frames with grey polarized lenses. Also if you are not sure when shopping, if you go to a team center (not sure if thats what they are called in Florida) the sunglasses there are all approved for wear onstage.
