Glasses on rides?

The important thing is that your glasses fit well. Look down at the floor and shake your head like a wet dog drying off. If your glasses move around, get them adjusted.

I have a strap for my glasses, but I don't use it on anything at WDW. I did use it on RnRC the first time I rode it, but not anymore. If it makes you more comfortable to use one, you should, they're cheap and pretty comfortable.

Also, if your vision is so bad that you can't function without your glasses, you should travel with a spare pair (or at least a copy of your prescription). A roller coaster isn't the only bad thing that could happen to them. Ask me about the time I lost mine in the ocean or the time a drunk guy shoved me face-first into a door at a restaurant. :scared:

I am another advocate of wearing a sports strap with the glasses. Mine never come off, but it is not worth the risk. You can pick up a strap at your favorite discount store for a couple bucks, which is a good investment for peace of mind.

I wear my glasses on every ride and I've never had an issue. They stay put through it all.

I about lost mine on Splash Mountain as I forgot to put on the strap. I remembered it once we were in the boat :rotfl: I had to grab onto them. After that, you can believe my strap was on tight on my glasses. I'd be in big trouble if I lost them :upsidedow "blind!"

I 100% agree with this post :thumbsup2 My glasses fit well and probably wouldn't fall off on any of the coasters, but I don't want to take that chance so I spent a few dollars and got a sport strap.

Hm, I took off my sunglasses for Splash Mountain but I guess that probably wasn't necessary. I always will sit on my hat though

Not necessary, but probably pretty smart. DD (7) wears her glasses on most everything and we have never had an issue. The problem on Splash was that after she got splashed, she couldn't see a thing out of her glasses! Kali is another one, it is a good idea to take them off. She rode Grizzly River Rapids at DL (basically their Kali), and we didn't think about taking her glasses off, and I don't think she could see for most of the ride because she got splashed pretty early!

We take hers off on Space Mountain and put them in my purse, but that is about it, other than the water rides. She doesn't see that well without them, so we don't want her to miss stuff.

I'm allergic to contacts and so wear glasses all the time since I would need a seeing eye dog without them. I don't like the feel of a sport strap, so what I do is take an old pair of glasses with me and switch them out for rides like Space Mountain where I think I might lose them. I see well enough with the old prescription to appreciate the ride without worrying that I might lose my specs.

The only ride I don't wear any glasses on is RnR. Still haven't properly seen that one, but I keep my eyes closed anyway.

DH and I both wear glasses - either regular prescription glasses or prescription sunglasses. Never had a problem with them coming off or even feel like they are coming off during any rides. That said when we buy our glasses we have them adjusted so that they are a tight (not uncomfortable) fit for our face.

DH wears his sunglasses all the time but almost lost them on SpaceM, RnRcoster, EE, and ToT

anytime im at WDW I always have a string on my glasses and wear them on the rides with the one exception being RNRC I have new glasses this yr so I will definitely be wearing the string rather be safe then sorry

I have ridden every ride with my glasses and have never had a problem. I don't use a strap and I have never felt as if my glasses were ever in danger of coming off. Mine fit very well, though, so maybe that is why?

I take mine off on Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, and Test Track. However, I can't see without my glasses, so it makes for an interesting situation!

I haven't had any trouble with wearing glasses on rides before, although I'm sure if I took them off it would be one trippy experience (especially on Space Mountain).

I see a PP has experience in this. :rotfl:

My dad's glasses were broken on RNRC a few years back. Not sure how or what part, but that is the story he always tells us when we talk about the ride...now I am curious and need to find out more info:)
