I wear glasses and am pretty blind without them. Has anyone had issues with wearing glasses on Forbidden Journey? Naturally, I'll need them to see everything in Hogwarts. They aren't very loose at all, but I suppose I could store them in my cargo pants if I had to.

I'm the same way. I was thinking that I might get one of those straps that people wear on their sunglasses, w/the slide that tightens down (unless someone knows where to get a vintage elastic band from the 60s :goodvibes).

Glasses straps!

After my daughter lost her glasses on a roller coaster in Canada's Wonderland, we never go to a theme park without them.

I've never had any trouble finding them in drugstores. If they're not adjustable, we just tie a knot in the back.

WalMart's vision area has a ton of different styles of straps for glasses. My son and I got two different types, since we're picky in different ways ;) I don't go to an amusement park without them!

Both my wife and daughter waer glasses and had no problem with FJ. I noticed that the park sells glass straps for $2.99.

My daughter had no problem with glasses on that ride and her's are not the tightest in the world.

It isn't a ride like a roller coaster. More like a more modern, intense, individual experience than a spiderman or a simpsons ride. The movements are much smoother and more attempting to mimic you riding a broom stick. The only thing I can say is you might get them wet from the water the ride will squirt at your face. I got hit right in the eye and couldn't see for a few moments. That kind of ruined that part of the special effects for me. That happened when I was in the left most seat. I didn't get it when I was in the right. There are no "tracks" but more of a forklift that takes your "car" and carries you through the ride.

There are straps for glasses throughout the park and cost just under $3.00 i believe. I also bought their eyeglass repair kit/cleaner. Came with a really nice eyeglass screwdriver that I stuck in my check on baggage coming home. Really nice little kit and it came in handy throughout the day with glasses getting wet and fingerprints.

I am just back from vacation, and I wore my glasses on FJ. If they do not fit loosely, you shouldnt have any problem. I made sure all the eyglass screws were tight before i even left home. You definately want to be able to see everything for sure:)

We had absolutely no issues with glasses. They didn't even move. The motion is so smooth nothing gets jerked around.

Thanks for the answers! I have such a strap that I bought at WDW several years ago. I just need to find it. If not, I'll pick up another one.

Now, a follow up question. How about glasses on some of the coasters? Can I wear them, especially if I wear the strap? I've usually taken them off, but if I could leave them on, I'd prefer to do so.

I had no issues with my glasses at IOA. It was fine on FJ, DC, FOTH, and Hulk.

I wore my glasses on all the rides with no problems! As hot and sweaty as I was I was afraid they would slide off, but no problems at all.

I use a glasses band just in case, but in 30+ rides my glasses have never even come close to coming off.

I wore my sunglasses on Hulk and ended up almost losing them so now go blind jic.
Might have to invest in one of these straps this year though, as I feel I'm missing out a little.

I rode FJ twice about two weeks ago. The first time I rode it my glasses almost fell off twice but I think that it was because I was so excited and moved my hands towards my face. It didn't happen the second time I rode it though. I usually have no trouble wearing glasses on any ride and was surprised that my glasses did get knocked off kilter a bit but I really think that I bumped them with my hands a couple of times.

This is the rule I would follow. How much would your vacation be ruined if you lost your glasses? For me, I wouldn't be able to see anything. Luckily I wear contacts. Do you have an old pair? Time to go get a cheap pair fitted you could stand to loose. Then carry your normal pair with you in case you do. You can call them your coaster glasses. lol

I wouldn't wear them on coasters if you have no back up and your vacation would be a blind journey.
