I have already done the Glass Bottom Boat Excursion in Nassau. The best part for us (me and DH) was the boat ride and seeing Nassau. The glass bottom was ok, but we really didn't see too much and did not get to see the shipwreck because of rough seas.

Has anyone done this excursion in Freeport or Castaway Cay? I'd like to take my Mom on one of them in September, but I can't decide where.

we did the glass bottom boat at castaway cay and it was okay. it was cheaper than the other excursions and it got grandma and baby out of the sun for awhile. we saw a lot of fish and the trip wasn't too long! enjoy your cruise!

We did the glass bottom boat excursion in Freeport this last January. We loved it. With this boat you can sit down or stand up to see the glass bottom. The boat went a distance out where we could see stingrays and sharks and the normal fish. My only suggestion for you is to take bonine prior to the your excursion. I got a little green :( due to the boat was really rocking.

Thanks for the info. On the Castaway Cay boat, is there standing room only? It sort of looked like that in the picture on the Disney website. Also, where do you meet the boat?

Minybear - How can one tell a normal fish from an abnormal fish? I guess the normal fish travel in schools while the abnormal fish hang out at places like The Krusty Krab...

Here is a quote I just happened to notice from a trip report....

I just came off of the July 13th-17th Disney Wonder trip and thought Freeport was a bit uneventful. Feedback for your readers would be to skip the "Glass Bottom Boat" excursion. The passengers didn't see very many fish and the boat was real rocky (some of the passengers got seasick).

Thanks for posting that. I think I have ruled out Freeport. Still thinking about the Castaway Cay one, though. Otherwise there is not a lot of stuff for my mom to do that day.
