Glasgow-Stanford - Direct Holidays

Is anyone booked to fly Glasgow-Stanford next year with Direct Holidays (My Travel) My sister booked a few months ago for 14/8/08 and we booked recently. Our invoice showed flight no MYT045/MYT046 and the departure times. We paid some more money off and received a new invoice which shows no flight time or departure times, we checked the web site and it shows no Thursday flights available during July and August. I phoned the call centre and asked if there was any seats available for Thursday 14.08.08 she said they dont do Thursday flights just Saturdays. I gave her my booking ref and she confirmed it said Thursday but her system shows there are no flights on a Thursday. I asked if we are going on a Thursday and she said just asume you are until told other wise. My sister has already booked hotel/parking at Glasgow but I dont want to book ours till I have confirmation. I have emailed them for written confirmation but have had no reply yet. Does anyone have any info please. Thanks.

Mytravel and Thomas Cook have recently merged, you can expect there to be some changes to flights as a result as they change over to using the Thomas Cook brand.

Yes this may be true but you would expect the Mytravel call centres to know this.

I rang yesterday to try and book seats on the Thursday 14th August flight from Glasgow as it was no longer showing on the internet. Was told they had cancelled the Thursday flight, now trying to find out if I can get seats on the Saturday 16th flight which is almost full.

Spoke to the call centre again and got no where. I said all I want to know is am I still flying on Thursday 14 August 2008 and they could not tell me, just kept saying there is nothing on the sysytem. There is a Thursday fllight with Thomas Cook but neither Direct Holidays or Thomas Cook can confirm I am on that flight. My worry is a couple of months down the line they will say they are not travelling that day and all the Saturday seats will be taken. I have emailed them but a week later have had no answer. The kids keep asking if we are still going and I have nothing to tell them. Feel as though I am banging my head against a brick wall.

Have you heard any more about the Thursday 14th flight? Just found out today our neighbours are also booked on your flight. I didn't like to worry them and tell them it may have been cancelled but they don't seem to know anything about this, told me they were definately booked on the Thursday 14th flight with Direct Holidays.

Sorry still no further forward. Was told to ring programme management, who then said we needed to speak to aviation, but aviation dont speak to customers and programme protection could not get through. Asked if they would keep trying and ring me back they said no and we would have to ring them back at a different time and would see if they could get through. Sent another email as no one had replied to my first email and still have had no reply. We were informed that the more complaints they had the quicker it would be sorted. We might be worrying about nothing but other people who are flying with Direct Holidays/My Travel next year on different dates and different airports have had there flight numbers changed to Thomas Cook number, so if they know whats happening with theres why dont they know whats happening to ours. Sorry we are still in limbo!.

Sorry to here about all the bother you are having.

Merger or not, I think someone within the organisation must have the information you are looking for. If you continue to hit the proverbial brick wall, it might be worthwhile contacting the likes of Raw Deal (Sunday Post) or The Judge (Sunday Mail). Both have a good track record in dealing with this kind of problem and the company will want to avoid any adverse publicity.

Hi, I can confirm (from airtours online & the horses mouth at going places)
That there are NO thursday flights from glasgow.
The lady at going places asked me (when i was booking theme park tickets) if i had a thursday flight, when i said saturday, she said that people with thursday flights should have had some sort of contact from the Thomas Cook Group confirming this. (Thomas Cook, GoingPlaces, Airtours)
Sorry to anyone thats booked thursday flights, I would contact your Tour Op NOW to get flights ammended as they are filling fast.

We were on the Thursday flight and were finally contacted by Direct Holidays to say the Thursday flight had been cancelled. It has worked out better for us as we have been moved to a flight which is compatible with our plans but was more expensive to book at the time. Hope everyone else gets sorted.
