Howdy folks! Virginia Beach guy here!
I'm sure you've never heard this before
but I'm new to planning a full-fledged Disney Vacation. I've been to DW several times, and even surprised my wife with a 3 day vacay over New years (CROWDS! haha) 14+ months ago.
I'd love any ideas from the great folks on here when you look at our plan/budget/timeframe etc... I'm the type of guy who loves to research and plan and find great deals. I can see, pretty quickly, it seems there aren't many "hidden" deals with Disney. The occasional Free Dining or some % off of certain resorts, but not much else.
So, here are some details. If you have the time, any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
General:
-We will likely be arriving on Oct 9 and staying 6 nights.
-The group looks to be 4 adults and 2 kids. Me, my wife, our kids: an almost 4 yr old boy... and a 2 yr old boy. And my wife's mom and dad.
-Our budget (including food... so hoping for a free dining plan promotion) is about $5,000 total for the group. Obviously there will be a lot of little/medium expenses along the way but i'm not factoring those into the room/ticket budget.
Lodging:
-Being a part of the experience onsite is important to us. Not really flexible in staying off-site... We don't want to rent a car, etc.
-When we went 14 months ago we stayed at Port Orleans Riverside and really enjoyed it. I kind of started there when planning this year's trip.
I'm tempted by 2 other contrasting things...
1. Saving a good bit of money and Staying in a family suite at the new "Art of Animation" value resort. It looks like it could be very nice, especially being new... but I'm not sure how comfortable a "TableBed" is going to be for a week.
2. Seeing what is out there as far as "suites" in a more Deluxe resort capacity. This may be way beyond our budget but why not look anyway? It doesn't seem the Moderates or Deluxes even have something like the family suites at the Values. I can't see my wife sleeping on a sofa pullout for 6 nights.
-I don't want my in-laws to have to be in the same room as us. Our kids wake up early... and what woman wants her son-in-law seeing her first thing in the morning!
Alright, as you can see, I tend to say A LOT at once. I'll let it rest hear and fill in some details later if needed.
THANKS A BUNCH in advance!
