Glad I checked the Calendar - Pirates Sneak Peek

The dates for the Pirates Sneak Peek originally showed this as only going thru May 1, I think. I double checked the calendar today for our trip, with a check-in of May 8, and it shows the Sneal Peek happening on Sunday, May 8.

I have read the description, but can anyone tell me just what this interactive experience is? Also, just where is the Festival Arena?

I went there last week and it was really fun. Got a preview of the movie and it was a blast to interact with all the pirates on set. I suggest stopping by! Especially if you have younger ones, they'll love it!!!

The Festival Arena is behind Big Thunder Mountain Ranch. It's the same area where the did Family Fun Weekends earlier this year, where companies can rent it's space, and where years ago the had the Festival of Fools.

It was just DH and I and we loved it. We are big POTC fans so it was a pretty cool thing to attend and see.

Festival of Fools, was that related to Hunchback? The Hunchback stage show at WDW is my most favorite of all the Disney park stage shows, period. I saw it every trip it was being performed, and I could not believe when it was closed down.

I am looking at one of the Happty 55th Aniversary park maps, but it doesn't show the Festival Arena. From your description, I guess it would be past where the BBQ is held.

Aurora&Prince, I followed the link and it took me to info about the premiere. I searched around a bit, but did not see anything about the preview--I must be overlooking it.

It's in Big Thunder Ranch, just next to the BBQ. They'll walk you through the Ranch and into Festival Arena. It's an area that's not normally open. You have to sit on the ground (concrete) where they place you. So, be ready to sit cross-legged for about 20 minutes or so. You wear the regular DLR 3-D glasses, so the effects are not as good as they would be in a movie theatre. But, it's a fun little clip of the movie. My Dad and I went and enjoyed it.

Yes it was and it was great! I was also sorry to see it go.

I did a little research on it when we got to see the area again earlier this year for the Family Fun Weekend. I was thinking it was about 15 years ago, or so. what I found said it was from June 96 - April 98. ( I guess my memory isn't too bad!)

Both those links talk about it. It was the premire of the Sneak Peak. They show it every Friday, Saturday, Sunday at DL behind BTTM before you reach Fantasyland. Its where the Hunchaback Festival used to be! Wish they would bring it back.
