01 GIVE KIDS THE WORLD Ninety-three cents of every dollar donated goes to programs.

Give Kids the World partners with local charities, including the Make-a-Wish Foundation, to streamline travel planning for sick children, an often complicated process. Henri Landwirth, a Florida hotelier and Auschwitz survivor, launched GKTW in 1989 after he agreed to provide hotel accommodations to a leukemia-stricken girl who died before the rest of her travel arrangements were finalized. The organization operates a resort village that can provide accommodations for up to 138 families and has brought some 97,000 families to Orlando.

This is wonderful to see Tom, that Give Kids The World is being recognized nationally. We are angels (volunteers) at the village and have seen firsthand the amazing work that is done there. The families are so happy to have just about all of their wishes granted and to be with other families who are sharing some of their same daily life situations and trials. Disney's presents is everywhere from park ticket and character meet-and-greets to in room gifts and laundry. If you are in Orlando and have an "extra" day in your vacation, please consider volunteering a few hours at Give Kids The World. You will get back much more than you could ever give.

That is awesome. I really enjoyed my time at GKTW during DAP weekend. We all seemed to. I'm hoping to return there soon. It was a great experience.
