My wife Cathy and I had the pleasure of dining last night at Shulas Steak House at the Dolphin Hotel with the Podcast crew, as a result of our participation in the recent GKTW tee shirt auction.
A few observations from the event
1. What you see (or hear) is what you get. The crew is exactly as they seem on the show, they are warm and friendly and very candid about their feelings, especially regarding Disney. No one has a show face or persona. We even got to hear a mini rant from Pete!
2. Baby Ferris is incredible, so cute with a mop of dark hair and very well behaved. He spent three hours with us and did not make a sound. Julie and Cory are fantastic first time parents, they work together like old pros.
3. Do not put your hands near Cory when dining, you might lose a finger. Cory devoured a huge slice of prime rib, down to the bone, it actually looked like half a cow. Oh to be that young again.
4. Thanks to Julie from Cathy for the shopping tips guess where we are going today.
5. There are some great plans in the works. Unfortunately, we were sworn to double secrecy. Sorry, you will have to stick around and keep listening.
6. The meal itself was fantastic, and the crew was kind enough to arrange for a private room so that we could have conversations with each of them without struggling to hear.
Pete, Walter, John, Kevin, Cory, Julie, Ferris, Kathy, Katie, Thersa and Calvin (sorry if thats not spelled correctly) thank you all for taking the time to share a great meal and new freindships. We know that all of you were scrambling to get everything ready for the Podcast Cruise and we thank you for making time while we were in town to get together.
You gave us an evening that we will not forget.
