GK and Storytellers Prices?

These are buffets for the most part right? What is the fee for dinner at Goofy's and Breakfast at Storytellers? We have 3 adults and 1 child and a 2year old..if that even makes a difference.

Storytellers has a menu that you can order from until the time of the last breakfast seating (meaning if you are seated during that last seating, you've missed out on the menu and must order from the buffet), along with the buffet. So there's a choice with Storyteller's.

GK is only buffet.


You can get an approximation of the cost by looking at allears...I guess the Dis, at wdwinfo.com, is supposed to have menu info, but it's still pretty new and I haven't been satisfied with their info so didn't check it for you.

Do you know when the last seating is? We got our PS at 8.20am...I'm sure the buffet will be fine but I just wondered??

Goofy's Kitchen (all-you-can-eat character buffet for breakfast/brunch or dinner) rates differ depending on whether or not it is off-peak season or peak season, and whether or not you eat the breakfast/brunch or dinner. Dinner is more expensive that breakfast/brunch. Peak season (summer and holiday periods) is more expensive than off-peak. By those standards, the peak season dinner would be the most expensive option and off-peak breakfast would be the cheapest. I actually prefer the breakfast choices 100% more than the dinner choices anyway, which works out because it is cheaper. Right now, which is considered off-peak because it is a non-summer and non-holiday time, the breakfast would be $32.21 per adult, and that price INCLUDES tax and tip (the servers bring your drinks). Not sure about the kids' prices. Storytellers breakfast buffet is not too much cheaper than that, and the characters are ONLY out for breakfast at Storytellers, not dinner, whereas Goofy's has characters for every meal.

If you were to eat at Goofy's for dinner during off-peak times of year, like now, it would probably be about $5 or $6 more than the breakfast, so about $37 per adult, approximately. As far as I know, I think (could be wrong) that the other character buffets have prices close to the Goofy's buffet. I think Goofy's is worth it because there is SO much to choose from that eveyone can be satisfied, and there are characters at every meal. Of course, if you have AAA or an AP, you can get a discount on the price, which comes in handy!

The earliest seating for Goofy's is 7:00 a.m., so it doesn't interfere with precious park time. I think they seat all the way up until 11:30 a.m. or so, then take a break to prepare the dinner food, then reopen around 5 p.m. or so, roughly.

Both places are really expensive. I mean we payed something close to $150 for breakfast at Goofy's, and we didn't buy the $30 picture! I have the menu from Storyteller's (Chip signed it) and as I re-read it I experienced the same sticker shock I did when I sat down to eat breakfast there. Holy Banana-stuffed French Toast, Batman! The least expensive thing on the menu is around $14.00 for adults, and most are closer to $17.00! I can't remember how much the buffet costs. We loved the design of the restaurant, but thought the character interaction was just OK. The food was great and should have been for the cost. Even though we will stay at the GCH again, we won't eat at Storytellers again. We'll do WWS or get something small from jamba. I hate spending a bunch of money on breakfast!!

BTW, even with how much it cost, we loved the food at Goofy's and would eat there again. The desserts were on par with some high end brunch places we have eaten. Like a pomegranate panna cotta, and something with blood oranges--divine! My kids loved eating mac and cheese for breakfast. We'll totally try dinner there next time.

I have to agree with you on everything. Everyone always points out that you can order from the menu at Storytellers and not at Goofy's. The thing is, they are basically charging dinner prices for breakfast dishes off the menu and I thought it was too much money and not worth it. What was it I had? The American Breakfast or something like that - easily $17 or more (the same as the spaghetti I had there for dinner in December!). And it was no more food than what you would get in a Grand Slam at Denny's. It was tasty, sure, but it was a $9.00 meal that they were charging $17 for. Not worth it. I may as well have gotten the buffet, and I have gotten the buffet at Storytellers in the distant past, but their buffet doesn't have as many choices as what is at Goofy's. I was also not entirely thrilled with the character selection there.

I much prefer Goofy's because, even though it IS expensive and there is no getting around that, and you don't have 'off the menu' options, it still seems worth it to me because there is SO much to choose from in the buffet and the food quality is great, as you said about the desserts. You can get as much of what you like as you want, and everybody is satisfied - even the pickiest of eaters. But it is costly, so it's not for everyone. I just feel it is a better use of the money spent on the buffet there than the money spent on the Storytellers food....and I like Storytellers as a restaurant. Nice, cozy, warm atmosphere. Very inviting. But I actually had my cheapest meal (and a delicious one) there when I went for lunch and ordered from the menu - the lunch items were not outrageously priced, like the breakfast was. Odd!

I liked storytellers better than goofys We spent around 54 for 1 child and 2 adults (with 10% AP discount). Expensive but it is a character meal and the characters were very sweet especially meeko. We did dinner at Goofys so I'm not sure what the price difference would have been for bfast. I'm pretty sure the dinner at Goofys was close to or over 100 (thats including the AP discount). I think doing both at least once is a good idea though.

Goofy's breakfast is always about $5 - $6 cheaper than dinner, whether it's the off-peak season rates or the higher peak season rates!

And yes, I agree - I think doing both places at least once is a good idea, even if just to eat at Storytellers during a non-character time. They do have good food for lunch and dinner too. I just prefer Goofy's for breakfast by a mile.

THanks everyone for all your input! I've been to Goofy's but it's been a few years and I REALLY want to go back...our first and only experience was fantastice!! We've never gone to Storytellers so I think we'll give it a try.

I have 2 little girls that are absolutely thrilled with Storytellers. They have had nothing but amazing character experiences there and in our experience, they recieve a higher level of attention - especially the earlier seating times. The characters really "play" with the kids more - follow the leader, simon says, etc. If they see their toys or dolls on the table, they make special trips by the table to play with them.

The food has always been consistent. I'm going again on Sunday, so I'll mention if I found things different.
