Giving up diet soda..............

I used to drink pop (or soda) and just decided to give it up when I wanted to get healthier. I didn't find it hard at all. I just decided one day to stop eating bad fast food, drinking pop, adding a bunch of sugar to my coffee, and made a lot of other changes to become more healthy. I'm a label reader now and Aspartame is one of the things that make any product an instant deal breaker AFAIK.

It was like flipping off a switch and I've never looked back.

Good luck.

Until someone can prove to me that diet soda causes cancer like cigarettes do, I see no need to give it up. I've already given up sugared soda, white bread, and a few other things. I've noticed no difference in weight, blood pressure, or health in general when I've gone on a "no diet soda" kick. Instead, all I had was less enjoyment and variety in beverage at lunch and dinner.

As for drinking flavored sugar free water instead. What's the difference, besides the lack of carbonation? :confused3
It's my understanding that the carbonation leaches calcium from your bones. So I'm trying to get away from that. I'm 55 and I don't need any help speeding toward osteoporosis.
