Last Christmas I asked my husband for 1 gift and 1 gift only, a Macbook. We shopped around ahead of time so that we could have it before we had to spend a long 3 days at his mom's house. We got the basic one for $888 through MacConnection. Check other dealers besides Apple. Even with the govt discount, MacConnection was cheaper. On Christmas morning, my husband surprised me with other gifts still which were unnecessary but nice.
To those who think a Macbook is a waste over a Windows PC when we don't get the blue screen of death, nor when we don't have to worry about most of the viruses out there, it is so worth it.
Oh and if Apple comes out with the iPad with the camera before Christmas, I will be surprising my husband with one this year. If not, that will be his birthday present next May. He wants one but only after it has the camera so he can do the video chat with us when he travels for work. If no iPad this year, I'm getting him a GPS for hiking. I don't see why 1 big present is a big deal. We bought each other a large tv for our anniversary this year. We usually get each other 1 big gift each year.
