I thought it was particularly interesting that the latest issue of the Disney Magazine has a feature on the resort pools with ratings of the best pools for different types of activities and different types of guests. It seemed like they really went out of their way to mention just about every resort pool as the best in some category. Did anybody else see the article? What did you think? Do you think it will have any effect on people's desire to do pool hopping (either by DVC members or by others)?

That's very funny because I was thinking the very same thing as I was reading it!

I was thinking - I would love to try this pool and this pool and this pool....

Maybe they're trying to whet our appetites before they pull the plug.:p

Just kidding, but I was wondering the same thing when I read the article.

Frankly, I got excited about pool hopping to places I had never considered doing so before!!!:D

Being that it's Disney Magazine and not specifically aimed at DVCer's I'm going to assume that they are trying to tempt people to come on-site if staying off site, or to try different hotels than they usually stay at. I can't imagine they'd be trying to encourage "illegal" pool hopping (as in non-dvc). Just a different spin on hotel promotion.

I don't have this issue yet...can't wait to see it!

I wholly agree with you, Lesley!!!

Doctor P, you took the words right out of my mouth...err computer. I was thinking the exact same thing. In fact my daughter read the article this morning while at breakfast and mentioned it to me on her way out. It does seem as though Disney is "enticing" people with the article. I didn't even think of DVC members, I was thinking of resort guests. Maybe I read too fast, but I didn't see a mention of not being able to pool-hop. Years ago you were able to use any pool on property if you were a guest of a Disney resort. This article IMHO may encourage people to pool-hop. It will be interesting to see if in fact the article has any impact.

Isn't it ironic that this article came out right after the big pool-hopping problem?! The pictures certainly made all of the resort pools look especially inviting. I wonder if it would occur to Disney "novices" to try pool-hopping? The article doesn't mention it one way or the other. I, too, remember when any guest staying on Disney property could swim anywhere. That was really a nice "perk." I got a chuckle out of the fact that they tried to find something terrific about all the pools. When I opened the magazine, I thought the article would center on Stormalong Bay, the new Polynesian pool and Luna Park but it looked like every resort was included one way or the other.

I read the article with amusement.........if they had problems with non-member, non-resort pool hoppers before........what do they think will happen next. Nothing like a good ole' Disney guide to the pools.
