On food that is. I am trying to make sure I have everything planned out, money wise, so I am just looking for guesstimates on how much food would cost all of us over our few days.
We are a family of 5, 2 adults and 3 children. Youngest DS may possibly even eat off my plate for some meals, especially breakfast, he is not a big breakfast eater. We will be in the parks for 3 days, and I am providing you with what I *hope* to be where we will be eating and for what meal it will be for. Oh, pls include tip where applicable.

TIA!!
Day 1:
Dinner Crocs Bits N Bites
Day 2:
B-Carnation Cafe
L-Wine Country Trattoria
D-White Water Snacks
Day 3:
B-Dennys
L- Carnation Cafe
D-Golden Horseshoe
Day 4:
B-Riverbelle Terrace
L- Cafe Orleans
D-Plaza Inn
Day 5:
B: Storytellers Cafe.

Thanks again!!

Well, based on my family, I think you have too much restaurant eating scheduled, so if you go to all those meals, I am guessing you will want to split meals much of the time.
I have two boys and one hubby. We typically eat something for breakfast, oftentimes a just cereal. Then a bigger, sit down lunch, and then something lite for dinner. Or reverse, bigger breakfast, maybe no lunch, earlier bigger dinner.

But it is hard to decide which places not to go, isn't it?? Looks like a great plan and I hope you all have a wonderful time.

It is very hard to decide which places to not go to!!! Everything sounds so yummy!! It is very possible we will skip out on some of these, but there are some that are for sure (ex. Storytellers, and Plaza Inn, and at least once to Carnation Cafe). The others are very negotiable.
The only reason we are going to Cafe Orleans is because I want to try the Monte Cristo sandwich. May not get my way, so we may just do something quicker, like Stage Door Cafe or something.

If you do try the Monte Cristo, I would suggest getting one to split. My DS12 (who has a HUGE appetite) and I each ordered one and pommes frites (why did no one warn me they were so big???) and it was WAY too much food :scared1: I could only eat one quarter of my sandwich and my son could eat a little more than half. Between us, we could not finish one whole order of the fries.

I would get one sandwich, one pommes frites, and maybe a salad to share - seriously, it was a lot of food! Plus, because the sandwiches are deep fried, they are very rich - tasty for sure, but very rich.

Plus they are powder sugared!!

This is what I figure per 1 person,

$10. for Breakfast
$15. for Lunch and
$25. for Dinner/Supper

times x members of family

We are a family of 4 (2 adults 2 children ages 3 and 6) We usually budget about $100/day for lunch, dinner (we normally eat breakfast before we go) and snacks. This is for casual places like zocalo, pizza port, etc. Most of the time we don't spend that much, maybe more around $75 or so unless we plan a sit down dinner at BB or something then we have to budget an extra $50 or so depending on the place.

We are a family of four with two teen boys and we would never be able to eat a full meal three times a day. Sometimes DH and I would split something and the boys would split something and they felt they had plenty.

Also you didn't allow for snacks. ;) There are some very goods ones and you may just want to make those a meal sometimes. We got waffle cones from Burr Bank Ice Cream in CA and those are so big, that was lunch. 4 cost us around $17.

White Water Snacks is good because it is a quiet place away from the crowds and you can order little or lots and they will cut hamburgers and stuff in half for you if you ask.

This is a great thread. I was going to ask something similar. I really need to start figuring this out. I have two adults, 2 kids, and a toddler. The kids don't even eat that much. I'm guessing they will split a kids meal like usual, and the baby will eat off our plates.

I just want to second what Queenbillabong said.

I tried to eat half but couldn't..the monte crisco is thick and rich.

The pomme fries we ordered two of..because everyone loved them.

We usually eat in the room.. then have a big lunch... and a late dinner.. sometimes calling in chinese.

We are eating breakfast in our rooms (not counting those costs yet), then eating mostly counter service with a visit to Jazz Kitchen and Blue Bayou as our splurges. I'm balancing this by ordering some kids meals (I don't eat that much :goodvibes ) which will be $5.99 each, the adult meals are about $10 and the fancy places--well about $20 a plate (may split at Bayou).

So--for four days for a 25 year old woman, I estimate $112 not counting breakfast groceries.

we are a family of 3.
we are doing one nice meal a day charcter meal or rainforest cafe and BB
then we will eat some in the hotle and snacks in the park id say 6dollers for my sons kids meals
and 10dollers for each of us if were itting down eatting.
if were just snacking.
get a chicken strip basket at the golden horse place. and share it.
Or get kids meals
also brang water and drinks that will save on spending.
weresaying 200 extra after the one nice meal aday and ordering from vons or albertsons.

Jade we though we would buy groceries, we got Sandwich stuff but after 4 meals of that, for me it was just yucky. We did buy Little Debbie treats, and we bought our usual amount of soda for the week. Cans for the fridge. Then we found diet cokes in the plastic bottles that were half the size 6 oz. I loved these!!! I threw 1 in my bag and Dh put 2 in his carrier pockets. they weight nothing! I sipped all morning then at lunch we would get a cup of ice and pour a small amount in the cup to drink with lunch then back in the bags for sipping.

Well most things worked out. But we bought Way to much soda!! Our friends had driven to DL so they kindly said they would take the soda and sandwich fixings for them to eat on their way back.

So, the moral of this lesson is check, to see if you will need All of the $200.00 of groceries. The park food will call to you no matter what your plans are.

Dd was told that DL pipes food smells thru the parks to make your mouth water. Dd and I would never have known our allergies stop us from smelling things like that.

I am considering taking Cafe Orleans out of my plans. All I want is the Monte Cristo sandwich and the fries, my DH may split with me, and he may be greedy and think he should have his own, thin waste half of both. I was relooking over the kids meals, and I really dont think my kids sound to excited with what they are offering, and DS3 usually would just eat off other plates, and I dont know how well he would like the Cristo or the Pommes fries.

We might just walk back up to Main St. and get everyone a corn dog. We all eat those well!!

Before Warned these corn dogs are monster sized!! But they are the best ever!! :cheer2: :scared1: :cheer2:

for my family and my SIL I am budgeting $100 per meal. We will be in DL and San Diego a total of 11 days and I calculated a total of 29 meals if we do 3/day. So I'm budgeting just under $3000. The sit down meals will be > $100 and the counter service meals I hope will be < $100... so we'll see!:thumbsup2

I noticed you have Carnation Cafe for dinner... Sadly it's only open for breakfast and lunch.

cafe orleans has the cheapest micky waffles in the park and come with a nice side of fruit and bacon.
My husband loves the Eggs Benedict there and would never share lol.. he always get the Eggs benedict with a side kids mickey waffle lol.
I happen to looove those waffles too..
if you remember bring a small zip lock bag and save the fruit if your not able to eat it all and save it for snack later.. grapes, strawberries, or melon slices..
