Hello. We're going to Disney in December, right before Christmas. These are the restarunts we've chosen for dinner, what do you think? Please be honest.

Sci-Fi Dine In
Akershus Royal Banquet Hall
Liberty Tree Tavern, Character Dinner
Cinderella's Gala Feast
Spirit of Aloha Luau

Can only comment on Sci-Fi...and only for lunch. We enjoy the burgers/rings/shakes. Many agree that you stick with the simple stuff at Sci-Fi and you'll be happy.:earsboy:

Sci-Fi Dine In: Well, I have been told more often than not to avoid this one. I keep saying we will try it, but we always end up going back to 50's Prime Time Cafe! its great for lunch, this trip (in december!) we will do it for dinner.

Akershus Royal Banquet Hall: this is on our must make ADR for for breakfast. everyone in our party (from 2yr old dd to 'not saying how old' grandmother) wants to do this.

Liberty Tree Tavern, Character Dinner: i have heard good things about it! we for our trip have to choose between this or 1900 park fare, and we want 1900 park fare. (it will coordinate better wiht our park plans for the day too.) HOwever, when we go to MK we are going to do Crystal Palace. I don't think either place u can go wrong. (however Liberty Tree is family dining, and its turkey i think! yummmmm)

Cinderella's Gala Feast: imo its not worth the money but thats my opinion. since we are doing 1900 park fare dinner we will get the character princess experience, and no so we aren't eating in the castle, but for twice the price i didn't feel it was worth it to eat in the castle, but again just my opinion. i also have 2 kids who wouldn't know that they missed it. in a few years when we go back,(and they are older and wiser than me) we may have to add it in.

Spirit of Aloha Luau:this sounds like great fun!!! never did it, but sounds like fun!

All in all i think your choices are great. u can always read online the menus at each place to confirm your desire to eat there.

happy planning!

edited for errors.

Sci-Fi.....have eaten there twice for lunch. Love it! Stick with the burgers, onion rings and shakes......they are great! Especially the onion rings! :cloud9:

Akershus..........I've only eaten here for a non character dinner meal a long time ago. It was just DH and me, but we thought it was wonderful. I believe it gets good reviews.

Liberty Tree Tavern ........The whole family loved this one. A nice quiet place with good food and good portions, at least the meals we got. I had the pot roast and I think my DH had the steak, kids got mac and cheese. All good.

Cindy's Gala Feast.........I think it is way over priced. Heck! I thought it was overpriced when we went there 5 years ago for breakfast! :rotfl: But......if you HAVE to eat in the castle, (I think everyone should do it at least once) go and have a good time, don't think about what you are paying and be done with it. :smokin:

Spirit of Aloha........haven't been to this one, although I have been to a luau in Maui. For our tastes, we would choose Hoop de Doo, but there are many on here that don't like that one. I didn't think this one got that good of reviews, am I wrong??

Happy Eating! :woohoo:

My family never miss going to Sci-Fi each trip! The burgers are great!

We love sci fi go with your choices.

I can't believe this but out of all the times and restaurants I've been to WDW....I can only give credit to LTT.....never been to any of the others (CRT was too many years ago...wouldn't be fair for me to advise)....LTT was an enjoyable, non rushed meal, all you could eat, character interaction was excellent, service was excellent, food was good - I went there solo....I only eat Turkey- not fond of Ham or steak, the salad was excellent, and so were the side dishes....dessert was excellent also!

When you say Cinderella's Gala Feast, are you referring to the official meal by that title held at 1900 Park Fare in Grand Floridian or eating at CRT? Allearsnet lists the Gala Feast as being held at Grand Floridian, and CRT as it's own thing.

The Cinderella Gala Feast is the 1900 Park Fare Dinner.

We chose the Spirit of Aloha for a few reasons. We thought it would make for warm memories in the winter, my dd is having Luau for her birhtday in May so she'll really get a kick out of this, and what a warm up for me and my dh, we'll be celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary and we've promissed each other we're going to Hawaii for our 10th.

We have only been to the LTT for dinner and we all thought it was great! Going back next trip. :)

Definitely go to Liberty Tree Tavern! :cheer2:
The character interaction was fantastic and the food was wonderful.
We had the family meal that included some type of roast beef I think. It was the best meal that we had our whole week there. My husband and I loved the food and so did the kids. :cool1:

Sci -Fi Drive In -- :sad2:
It was okay, but think somewhere else might be a better choice.
The amount of time we spent waiting for our food could have been used better in the parks.

The food wasn't too great. We all had the shakes but they tasted like the icky ones from McDonald's. I thought that they would taste like the ones made from scratch with milk and ice cream. I had the babyback ribs and they were just so so. My husband had the steak sandwich and he said it was just okay. He would have been happier with a regular hamburger. For the kids, one had the hamburger and I think one had mac and cheese. These were okay too. Nothing great.

The atmosphere was neat. It was dark and you did feel as if you were at an old drive-in theatre. I think it would be better if they would show old black and white Mickey cartoons instead of the old movie promos.
