Hello,

We are planning a trip for the second week of March during Spring break. Our kids do not know anything about Epcot so we want to take them there. The last trip we missed it all together and the trip before that, our son was three so he doesn't remember it and our daugher was in infant so she stayed home with family. So since I have only been once and pretty much only walked around to all the eating places, what do you recommend to do there and what are your strategies for that park please?

We loved Soarin' & Test Track so I'd FP+ one and rope drop the other. Turtle Talk with Crush was really funny. We enjoyed the Living with the Land ride but it doesn't need a FP+. I wasn't that impressed with Mission Space (Green) but it's okay.

We enjoyed the ice cream in France and meeting Aurora there as well. Mulan was cute to meet even with boys because she asked my son to demonstrate his warrior moves. DS liked the flavored ice things they have in Japan. My sister and soon to be BIL love the avocado margaritas in Mexico. There are so many snacks and drinks in the world showcase you don't even need a TS reservation in my opinion. Not that they aren't good too, but yum for the snacks! :) We browsed in some of the shops as well. Oh - we LOVED meeting Pooh & Tigger in the UK and the kids had fun playing in the red phone booth outside UK/Canada (can't remember which) since they'd actually never seen a phone booth before. LOL

Awesome. Thanks for the character information as well. I was wondering which ones were there. Anyone else, please feel free to add your info.

No problem! other's we skipped/missed that I'm aware of are Mary Poppins in UK, Belle in France, Snow White in Germany, Jasmine in Morocco, Donald in Mexico. I'm sure there are more. When you go on that day make sure you get a character/show line up sheet, they are near the maps at the entrance. Then you can see who's definitely meeting that day and at what times. We had a hard time seeing ALL of them, so prioritize who you really want. For example, we wouldn't have easily been able to see both Aurora and Belle at the same time in France, so we would have had to go back later to see Belle because DD wanted to see Aurora more.

chip & Dale are in Future world near the character spot.

Hello,

We are planning a trip for the second week of March during Spring break. Our kids do not know anything about Epcot so we want to take them there. The last trip we missed it all together and the trip before that, our son was three so he doesn't remember it and our daugher was in infant so she stayed home with family. The second week of March will put you in EPCOT during the Flower and Garden festival, which is wonderful! Since the bulk of attractions for F&G are throughout world showcase, you will still have plenty of time to do Test track and Soarin, anything else in Future world you wanna hit, and check out the festival center if you are there on a weekend, before heading back into world showcase to take in all the different flower displays (if you are interested in that), and also to sample food from around the world at the food booths, and catch any concerts you may be there for, if you like the artist.

Depending on the age of your kids, I'd recommend stopping at the Kidcot stations at each of the countries. They'll get to make a craft item and talk with some of the students from that country. We love getting to visit with them.

That reminds me; there are also really neat playground areas for the kids during F & G, as well as the butterfly house, where you can see "fairy houses" and there are lots of butterflies flying around that tend to land on guests as they walk through and look at the displays.

How old are your kids? My DD is obsessed with the Agent P missions throughout World Showcase. You pick up a communicator (i.e. a programmed cell phone) at a kiosk, and then go to your selected country. You start your communicator and then it leads you through a mission in that country. You have to find certain locations, and when you do you trigger special effects with your communicator. It is a must for any Phineas and Ferb show fans, and is a lot of fun even if you don't know what Phineas and Ferb is. My DD, 8, could spend an entire day just doing those missions. I think she first did one when she was 6 and they were Kim Possible missions, and she loved it then too.

For the characters, look at Kennythepirate.com. He has a list of all of them and when they appear. It is a great resource.

Lots of great information posted.
One thing we are going to try to do next trip is "Sum of all Thrills" located in Innoventions East (Future World). You get to design your own 4D thrill ride (roller coaster) then hop aboard a 4D robotic simulator to experience what you created. :)

Our kids love the Future world part of Epcot and are so/so on world showcase. Our past two trips we have done a preopening breakfast so we are already in the park and ready to ride at 9am. I think it worked better this trip as we started in the land pavilion and then worked our way across. We did rope drop soaring, then hit living with the land, nemo, crush and the aquariums. By the time we finished with that and maybe one innovation building or figment, it is normally lunch time. From there we go to the other side of the park and hit mission space and test track.

The kids(2, 5, and6) are ok with stuff in WS, but don't love it. We can make an entire day with the kids and never leave future world.

Epcot is our favorite park. My son loves the Agent P missions and test track. I really enjoy taking photos all over the world showcase, grandma loves the shops and F&W festival and grandpa loves Germany:drinking1. I don’t know if you plan to eat at Epcot, but I recommend you Askeshurs Royal Banquet Hall. We really liked the food (no picky eaters in the family) and the character meeting was excellent. We met Aurora, Snow white, Ariel and my favorite Mary Poppins. I just love it:love:.

The park is huge. If you have two days to spend there consider doing one side (Future World and half of World Showcase) on one day and the other half another day. Or, do Future World one morning thru afternoon and then World Showcase on a day you want to sleep in.

If you have 1 day, then plan you're route and maybe save some things for the next trip. For example, some attractions (SE, MS, TT) have stuff to do after you exit the ride that can take up a lot of time. You can choose to do those activities this trip and save Innoventions for the next one.

I second the recommendation to do the Agent P missions. It may mean you have to skip some countries due to time, but WS can be anti-climatic for kids (and some adults) as the adrenalin-rush attractions are missing.

Thank you all for your responses. Sorry, I should have posted their ages. They are 9 and 7.
