This is crazy.

WHY oh WHY do people loan money?

Why is it always my co-workers, and WHY do they think I want to hear about it!!!

Someone loans $1000 to someone with no plans on repayment, and the recipient decides that a $100 a month repayment fits their budget. They pay the loaner $100 a month for three months, and then the loaner decides they want the remaining $700 NOW!

A few months ago, a friend (co-worker) of mine borrowed $20 from another co-worker. When she went to repay, the co-worker said, "Forget it, my treat," and then complained two months later that she never got her money back. Those two are STILL fighting!

I guess they're not aware of "the rule".. Never lend money to anyone - even family - with the intentions of getting it back.. Either "give it" - as a gift - or don't give it at all..

Here's my rule: Never lend more money than you can afford NOT to be repaid.

If family is in a pinch we will fix something, buy groceries, pay a bill (my parents) etc...

But to loan money and expect repayment, nope, not walking that path.
