Give me a reason not to cancel...

I'm curious because like other people are saying, I just don't see how this party can be worth the $. Can anyone link me to any reviews for this event? I did a quick google search and came up empty. Wasn't sure if that was my keywords or if none have happened yet.

The photos were posted beginning on November 7th of the Frozen thread. yulilin was there and kept a running record of the Party events:

I wouldn't do the "Frozen" (could it be any more obvious they are trying to scam money out of people with a name that has nothing to do with the party?) party if it was 10 dollars a person. Watching the lights from the edge of the SoA is not the way to see them. Walk around and see them from all the different angels. No, there is no reason to do the party and it makes me mad that Disney even offerers such a crappy service.

I never did the Wishes Dessert party because I thought it was overpriced, so no way would I do this.

All these upcharges have me thinking in ways, I never thought before. $90 per person, or make your own party by going into Starring Rolls/candy place by Villains shop and telling the family, "get everything and anything you want." I'm sure the latter is cheaper, and would make kids eyes bug out more. ANYTHING!

This is what we have done in the past :thumbsup2

Wow!! First time I think I've ever seen people unanimously telling a person NOT to do something.

Thank you! Every opinion offered has just confirmed / reinforced what I've been thinking. I think I've known I was going to cancel, but just needed to "hear" the reasons.

Sometimes we know what to do, we just need someone else to tell us. :)

The seating area is at the end by Lights Motors Action. Personally I don't see how this is worth $30 let alone $90.

Did you cancel it yet? If not why not this is offering zero to nothing in terms of value. If Olaf was meeting people or even some kind of special Disney meet and greet it would maybe be worth it...take the kids offsite and get amazing deserts for a fraction of what you would pay for one person...walk around enjoy the lights...

We popped in to see the lights last night and noticed that the dessert party wasn't even near the lights! They have moved it to the Studio Catering Company counter service seating area next to honey I shrunk the kids play area....

perhaps because it is a much bigger spot there to fit more peeps....but like I said, you literally cannot see ANY of the lights, or even hear music from there! The people who were there looked bored as heck and it looked mostly empty since everyone had to get up and walk to see the lights after they ate. CRAZY to pay $90 pp for that kind of experience....definitely NOT worth it in any way. Sorry :(

Was there bad weather in the forecast? I doubt even with the money grab Disney has been in the midst of lately that even they would do this as their standard offering.

It did sprinkle a bit earlier in the day, but it was dry and 80 degrees in the afternoon/evening :confused3:

I agree with everyone else. We walked by it last week and it was almost empty (maybe 2 tables had people at them?). It looked completely pointless and the price tag is beyond ridiculous.

And yet it's so popular that they now are offering another seating at an earlier time. So Disney doesn't really care what you think about it, they just know it's popular as heck and has people yelling, "please take my money".

The second seating is only for dates starting the week of Christmas and through the New Year. When I checked last week, every date was still available.

I couldn't agree more! I just thought that maybe I was missing something, apparently I wasn't :)

Components to Premium Package:

-- Limited Release Pin & Lithograph -- priced at $50 on eBay,
-- FP+ for Frozen Sing-a-Long -- worth (??) $10
-- Dessert Party (including alcohol) -- worth (??) $40
-- Osborne Lights Private Area -- worthless.

You can certainly justify the $90 cost if you eat enough cupcakes and drink enough alcohol.

But what I have determined from reading posts about dessert quality - more like the quality at the local supermarket than pastry shop.

We cancelled our reservation yesterday.

So for my family of 5...

Go to eBay and spend $50 for the pin and lithograph, go to the Osborne Lights and walk around and save $400.
