This organization works with Make a Wish to help very sick children have an incredible experience. One of my coworkers has a young daughter with Down Syndrome who has severe digestive, spinal and pain problems. My coworker always has to face the liklihood that her daughter will never grow up. In addition, her big brother has to deal with having everybody's attention of the sick sister. They had a make-a-wish trip earlier this year to Orlando and it was a great experience. She said the GKTW village is awesome and the trip was really great. Giving a family struggling with a terminally ill or severely ill/disabled child something like this to look forward to and remember is priceless.
Also keep your eye out in your community for make-a-wish fundraisers. Last year we had a "rockin the leaves" concert as a fundraiser. It was awesome to see a whole bunch of teenagers do this great thing for an anonymous family.
