Give-a-Gift is gone!? It's BACK!

II sat down this morning to enter in a little over a dozen Gifts into VMK's Give-a-Gift, but the option is gone from the Contact Us page. Is it over? I'm so confused... The newsletter had read: "The final date to Give-A-Gift is Sunday, December 21, 2006 and all gifts will be delivered Tuesday, December 26, 2006."

I know there is no Sun 12/21/06, but I thought we'd have at least until 12/21 -- Today!

I should be able to still give gifts today! I sent a letter to the black hole, but I'm doubtful of a resposne.

I too am confused. I went to the contact us to gift another, and was so disappointed it was gone. I too thought today was the last day to be able to enter, not that today it would be gone.

I really wish VMK would be more clear about things.

I'm sorry you're having the same issue, though I'm glad I'm not the only one. I agree in whishing they'd be more clear, there are often similar mistakes in what Yavn says (he needs a better Editor before he goes to Press, heh), and it's just frustrating when this is our primary and nearly only source of "Official News" from VMK that directly affects the game.

I was not finished either thought I had all day today.

– Beginning Friday December 15, click the 'Contact Us' link and select the Give-A-Gift option.

– Tell us the name of the VMK friend you want to give a gift to. Be sure you give us their VMK character name and this is important - spell it correctly! Sorry but we can't deliver gifts to invalid names.

– You can give a gift to as many Friends as you like, but YOU MUST USE SEPARATE ENTRIES FOR EACH PERSON.

– 500 credits will be deducted from your VMK credits for each gift you give. If you don't have enough credits, your gift won't be delivered.

– Gifts are delivered anonymously - your friend won't know you gave it to them unless you tell them.

– The final date to Give-A-Gift is Sunday, December 21, 2006 and all gifts will be delivered Tuesday, December 26, 2006.

You won't know what this year's gift is until the 26th of December!

Bummer... I too went there this morning as I have sent out a dozen so far but wanted to send out a few more now that I have credits! But can't find it either? This isn't fair to us as Yavn did say Sunday the 21st. Yes it isn't Sunday but today is 21st! I am going to also sending a message to conatact us!
Not right! They need to be more clear on something as this important to people!

I just earned enough credits to give the gifts I'd like. I expected to be able to send them today. Perfect.

You did say Sunday December 21 so in all fairness it should run until VMK closes tonight.

This really is not good. I had a list of people I was going to gift today, including myself.....

I know there is a Yay Yavn thread, but I am not feeling all that warm and fuzzy about him and his team these days. The mistakes in the newsletters over the past few months if just silly.

Oh and Yavn... you dont lose HALF your gold in pirates... more often than not they take ALL of it. Have you played??

Count me in for one of them in the "alot" group. I just found out last night that Emery, my main mule, has 2.5 k: I wanted to at least send those three gifts out...


And VMK was doing so great with the Holiday Season/News of VMK Pass. I guess they just have to mess things up some way....

I know how everyone feels! I finally got enough credits to gift a few more and finally maybe 1 or 2 for myself and I find I can't! I'm glad I gifted a few yesterday, but man I thought I had more time! It was so confusing Sunday Dec, 21! I was like they either mean Sun, Dec 24 or Thurs Dec 21. SO, I figured I'd try my hardest to get everything for at least by the closing on Thursday (today) or I'd have a couple extra days. I was shocked and disappointed when I tried to gift this morning. I even wrote the black hole telling them as much and hoping nothing like this happens next year, but we know how the black hole works.

Well, I think the best we can do is all write the Black Hole and hope for the best. And maybe if one or more of the Mods or anyone else who may have direct contact with Yavn or anyone at VMK could also send them a message (or two or ten ) too. Maybe VMK will see their mistake and get it fixed for us.

I too just sent a message to the Black Hole. I agree...they totally messed up and should bring it back today or tomorrow so we can all get that last day that we thought we had! Come on VMK...please hear our cries and bring Give-a-Gift back...that's the least you can do on your mess up!

Mal, it was sheer luck that I did all of my others a few days ago. I had also been putting it off and had some free to before the game opened so I just entered, entered, entered.

Sadly there were several more I had wanted to do.

I also sent a request to the big black hole to at least put the option back up through the end of today.

The orignal notice said nothing to the extent that the last day was the 20th!!! If it had, I would have made sure to finish yesterday. When something says "The final date to Give-A-Gift is Sunday, December 21, 2006 .." that means the final day to do the give a gift should either be Sunday or the 21st, which is today. Today should be the final date!!!!!!
