give a day..project linus question

Here is the response I got: I am sorry that you drove down for nothing. Somebody took down the note explaining where to leave the cookies. We were not in because of the snow day. We are in all day Wednesday and Thursday. If nobody is here just leave them outside our office door on the second level, the church is open from 9-6 on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

So now my DH will have to leave work early tomorrow to get there to make a second attempt at delivering them.

Wow, I would be soooooooooooooooo beyond annoyed!!!!

I am BEYOND annoyed...it is just rude...but like my DH said, what can you do? You already made all these cookies and bars so we need to get them there. So lets hope tomorrow goes more smoothly! :sad2:

Crossing my fingers for you!

I have a quick question for those that already registered for PL.

I am on the HandsOn website right now trying to fill out the opportinity information. When it asks for "Address of Opportuniy", do you put in the address where the blankets are going or your home address?

i thought that was optional. i dont remember filling it out.
:confused3

So, you only filled out info on the GAD website and then sent in the form with your blankets?

I chose the opportunity from the link at the bottom of the screen where you choose ones that don't show up in the main search. It says they are run through the HandsOn website and you're supposed to register there.

Were you able to get your cookies in? By time I saw this and tried to figure out my schedule, it was down. Laura Baker had offered the same type of think a few weeks ago, and I missed that too. Always a day late and a dollar short!

ME TOO! Have you found an opportunity yet?

Are you in this area too? I convinced my kids' school in Northfield to sign up, as we always need volunteers. If you go on the GAD website and type in 55057 (Northfield's zip code), then click on the Hand's On Network partner organizations link at the bottom, St. Dominic School will come up. I talked with the guy who is organizing it last night, he is trying to figure out the specifics, then will get some stuff up, but you can still get his contact info from there and make contact with him.

I am in the metro area, but Northfield is like 70 miles from me, so unless we can do mail in stuff, that probably wouldn't work. I had checked into the baking in case I could drop the stuff at the husbands work in Bloomington, but I was too late also!

I have a question. I found a Project Linus chapter that I could mail our blankets into. But I was wondering if I sign myself, DH and DD up now can I go back in next week and add DS? He won't be 6 until Tues. (16th). Can he be added next week or should I just wait and register us all on Tuesday?

I would wait and register all of you at once. We picked an activity for 4 out of 5 of us and when I went to sign up #5 a few weeks later I had to call the help number because it kept rejecting the signup.

I am hoping that the dtop off will go smoothly tonight...my DH is bringing them down there. It was a pretty easy commitment.

Ok thanks! I was afraid I might run into something like that. It's just a few days away so I will wait. Thanks!

My mother would like to do the project linius since my dad can't take any time off work to volunteer someplace. He is working 7 days a week on a military base fixing their vehicles that go to Iraq. Anyway, which zipcode should I try? They will need to mail in their blankets. Thanks so much for the help!

I found one called project green care that is helping military families with yard work! We did ours last weekend and it was a great experience! We loved it and we met some great military members! If you have this one available where you live, I highly recommend it!

i hand delivered my blankets as it was right down the road from us.
i filled out all the info online when registering. everything was done online.
i made the appointment with the organization itself after they contacted me and then went back to my hands on account and filled out the volunteer date which was my blanket due date.

payesmom... have your mom try zipcode...61603...keepsacks for kids..It is like the project linus foundation. The woman got right back to me and my sister and she was very gracious.

Can these blankets be mailed in? It said they needed to be dropped off. My parents are in Arizona! Does anybody have a zipcode that has a project that can be mailed in for my parents? Thanks so much!!

I just typed in Disney World, FL as someone else suggested and the PL headquarters came up. You can mail them in and it's one blanket per person. I'm just waiting until Tuesday to sign up because that's my sons 6th bday.
