Give a Day, Get a Day

So did they desribe how the fastpass would work, or did you just read about how it will supposedly work from posts here?

Sure would be nice if Disney would just put info online on how this program will actually work... we are already a month into 2010

I was just over on the parks/attractions board and asked how exactly do the GAD FP's work.

I got a great answer! Here is the link: http://www.oinc.net/disney/fastpass.php#GAD

apparently they work like the birthday FP's did last year, though I had no idea how those worked either.

Thanks for the info ZuZugal..This is the best source we have so far and represents the best educated "guess" as to how it will work.

I actually had already quoted these facts from doconeill's page in post #21 of this thread and then listed this same link in post #30(and cats mom did as well), so this particular source is well documented. In talking with doconeill (the author of the GAD FP page), he is fairly confident that this is how it will work.... and he seems to have done his homework.

What we are waiting for now is someone who actually receives written confirmation from Disney or has actually used their voucher to get a GAD FP so we can see if this source is accurate. That is why I asked disney queen if the info she had received spelled it out at all.

Just so everyone knows, even Kevin of the PodSquad has received some contradicting info from a CM when he asked how the program will work, so at this point we just have to wait and see. :)

I have a question that I know one of you will be able to answer because you guys rock :cool1:. I have my tickets printed out for dh and Iand we are thinking of turning them in to season passes. Ok this is my question how does the dinning plan work with season passes. And when they do free dinning how does that work. We can fly out really cheap down there and with season passes that just makes it taht much sweeter. Thank you so much for your help :wizard:

The dining plan is a totally separate thing from seasonal passes. The only thing that affects the DP is where you are staying... you must stay in a Disney resort to qualify for it.

As far as how the plan works, there is a whole section on the boards for the dining plan. Here is a great link that will answer all your questions (or if you have any more, ask on this thread, they will definitely help you)

FP could run out by 11 am???? Is that redeeming the voucher or not able to get them at each ride?
We are making cards for a charity to include with their packages- 60 each, approx. 4 hours/person, I guess.
From Disney FAQ section on website:-----------------------
"*Guests presenting complimentary ticket media are not eligible to receive the Exchange Card or Ear Hat figurine options.
†Present voucher at applicable Theme Park ticket booth for Exchange Card. Participating attractions are subject to change. Valid theme park admission required. The number of Exchange Cards is limited and may not be available after 11 a.m. All Guests in your party must be present to receive the Exchange Card.
‡ See voucher for redemption locations. "

It is redeeming the voucher.

If we find a project for our family and get vouchers and take them to WDW for a one day one park ticket, can we then pay to upgrade that ticket or is it worth $0?

Just wondering so I can best determine how far out of the way we'll go to find something than includes the whole family - there's not much for those under 16 and nearly nothing if your children are under 12...

You can upgrade it. I understand you get the full value of a one day ticket when upgrading.
You have to use it before you upgrade it, I believe. So, you exchange the voucher for the pass, then after you are in the park, go to guest services and upgrade it.

Just wondering if anyone has used the voucher and then upgraded to a multi day pass? WOndering how much they gve you off the upgrade?
Thanks all!

Great question. Can anyone shed some light on this? We are a family of three adults (in Disney's version of adults) and will all be volunteering. I want to upgrade the GAD tickets to 9 day base tickets.

There is an entire subforum at Theme Park Attractions and Strategies concerning GAD. Most questions are answered there (repeatedly).

Basically the GAD tvoucher must be exchaanged for a one-day, one-park ticket. That ticket must be used the same day as issued. It must be used prior to upgrading. Then it has full value of a one day, one park ticket (currently $70 adult/$68 child). It may be upgraded to any ticket that you would normally be eligible to purchase (which restricts Florida Resident tickets to Florida Residents).

all vouchers are good until December (I think the 15th) 2010 - they are all separate but all get emailed to the group leader (if you sign up together one person is designated as the leader).

How long does it take for your service to be verified before you can print out the vouchers ?

We crocheted 12 blankets for an animal shelter. Once they received the blankets, they contacted Disney. My email says I should receive the link for the vouchers within two weeks.

DH and I just got back about 15 minutes ago from the county animal shelter. We walked dogs there for our GAD vouchers. We plan on signing up to volunteer more :)

I and my two grandchildren are scheduled to volunteer on March 15. I know this has been very popular. Since we are already scheduled, is there any chance the GAD program would deplete their supply of vouchers before we can do our volunteer work. We will be driving two hours one way to volunteer and I would hate to spend the time driving if there are no vouchers left.
