Wow-I just got an email that the opportunity I signed up for is full. Would have been nice if the website had said it. I'm having a real problem finding one we can do (with my DD10).

At least they got back to me . I signed up for another one that I never heard from. The site says they are getting close to a million volunteers so we may not get to do it.

Here's an instance where living close to DLR isn't a good thing. Too many volunteers wanting those GADGAD vouchers.

ADDED-I just registered for 2 more gardening opportunities. Hope we get one. If not, I had a brialliant idea (At least I think so.) My DNiece is getting her PHD in KS. I checked and they are still accepting Linus Blankets in KS. So, I can sign us up in KS (only have to make 1 or 2 blankies each, depending on size) and send them to her. Then she can turn them in as well as making one for herself so she can go to DLR when she visits. Sounds good, right? I know I'll have to pay for the postage to mail to KS but at least I'll be able to get our vouchers. And hey, it's pretty cold in KS, bet they could really use some nice warm blankies.

The date of the volunteer opportunity has passed. Verification that the volunteer has completed their activity may take up to 2 weeks.

Just wondering since others are getting their vouchers very quick.

my daughter & I signed up for the Linus Project & I put down on our dates as March 21, my question is = if I get finished before the date would that be ok??

I turned our blankets in early too. No problem. It was just yesterday. I'm anxious to get my confirmation email. The gal that took them said i should get that by friday then the vouchers in a week to ten days

Hi - I signed up to do a drive for Cradles to Crayons, which is moving to West Consohocken. They need gently used items for children. I have tons of stuff to donate myself, and I'm going to ask friends for donations as well. Maybe that's something you could look into.

We sorted food today at a local food bank. Great family activity and all my girls want to go back and do it again! Definitely a great experience.

We did our volunteering on a Saturday. We recieved our vouchers the following Thursday! So, a bit less than a week for verification.

Exact same timeline for us. We turned in our blankets on Saturday and got our vouchers this morning! Haven't decided yet if we're using them or donating them.

Next weekend we are going to our Humane society to "socialize" with the kitties! This one is great for our entire family and we've actually done it before just because we wanted to.

Someone on another thread said this message was on the bottom of an e-mail they just received from the GAD program:

"On Feb. 11, it was announced that 600,000 volunteers have already participated in the Give A Day. Get A Disney Day. program. Thanks to the exceptional programs and opportunities provided by the thousands of participating organizations, it's anticipated that the goal of celebrating one million volunteers will occur very soon. We will not be posting new opportunities or occurrences for the future as we are winding down the program."


I'm not really sure whether that means anyone already signed up will still be able to complete their service and receive their voucher, and they just won't be accepting new sign ups, but's that's kind of what it sounds like to me.
Any other thoughts?

If you have signed up you are all ready counted in as part of the 1 million - that is the bench mark -- you have no need to worry.

Just signed up to volunteer at a cat sanctuary with my 3 dds! So excited, but keep telling the kids that we will NOT be bringing a cat home. 2 already is enough.

I read on another thread that Disney is about to reach the mark this weekend, so if you registered, but have not signed up, you need to do so just to get that committment in.
