Give a Day, Get a Day

the fastpasses sound good for when we go, it would be nice to not have to wait in line with a 4 year old!!!!! do they work for all of the rides in magic kingdom that normally have fast pass???????????

The honest truth is we don't know for sure. Disney has not been real forthcoming with clear info. The info some have received is it will operate similar to the birthday fastpass from alst year (for those who chose fp instead of park entrance on their birthday). That pass allowed for a certain number of FP rides to be offered and the list did not stay the same, it could change. It offered 2 levels of FP (Donald & Daisy) with each level having certain rides

Example for MK:Donald = BTMRR, Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, etc.
Daisy = Buzz Lightyear, Jungle Cruise, Philharmiagic

You get the pass for one day and in that day you could get FP's for 2-4 rides from EACH category. ( So SM x2, BTMRR, buzz, Jungles 2x.... etc.)

Cool thing is the pass is an "instant" fastpass which you can ride immediately when you get it AND (if it stays the same... we can hope) even if the ride is out of fastpasses, like TSMM or Soarin', you can still get a FP to ride.

Somebody on the last e-mail DIS podcast said that Disney told them there will be no list of rides given, you will just have to go to each ride and see if it is accepting the Special FP for that day

BTW Thank to the DIS Pod Squad for playing my very first call in for the e-mail podcast... I feel so special! :)

We are all hoping this will be the case, but only time will tell. Hope someone will report back soon who has used it

We are making blankets for the animal shelter next weekend. Not sure if we'll get to go this year and use the passes (had planned on next Jan/Feb), but if we can't, we'll just donate them.

my sister and i are baking cookies for the homeless...

we have to make 25 bags each with 3 cookies inside. so we are doing 50 bags!!! We turn them in April 1st to the place. Then the company takes them to the homeless!!!!

Does everyone get their own voucher ?

If you registered all the members of your family to work, and you each participated, then yes, each of you who were registered get a voucher.

Ex. My family signed up to make Project Linus blankets. All 4 of us made 4 blankets together, so each of us will get a voucher. The cool thing with doing the Special Fastpass is each voucher allows you to get passes for up to 5 people per voucher, so we are going to use our vouchers one day at a time for all 4 days in the parks.... Special fastpasses every day!

Can't wait! :)

We sorted donations for an organization that helps adults with disabilities live normal lives. We did it last Sunday, and got our vouchers on Friday.

I'd be interested in knowing the zip code to search for the can tab GAD event. My family has done our day of service, but my brothers are having a hard time finding things in their area and this would be a good one for them.

I don' have the zip code, but I am helping a fellow Disney friend in Alabama save can tabs for the Ronald McDonald house for her son's GAD project. It took her nearly a month to find a project for her 15 year old DS!

The reason I am asking is I am doing Project linus too. But my sister is going in the summer I am going in the Fall. So will there voucher have their names that we can take at two different times. What is special fasspass?

I'm confused. I searched for a project and found one that would fit my family. I sent a request for times and such with our names and ages (like the GAD website said) I received back an email from the project leader saying "Based on what I learned, you have to register on line." I thought I wasn't to register until after I recieved the date/confirmation from the project leader. What am I doing wrong? :confused3

hmmm...
Based on the info that has come out so far, it looks like each person gets a separate voucher. Now whether they are time sensitive (must use by x date) or not, I guess we won't know until someone gets vouchers and takes a look

As far as the fastpass info go here and read about the "Give A Day" exchange card...
http://www.oinc.net/disney/fastpass.php

Remember, the FP is for people who don't want the free admission and pick this instead. You don't get both. Also, we still do not know for sure if this is "exactly" how the pass will work but should be close

Does everyone get their own voucher ?

YES! :thumbsup2 It gets emailed to you.
MEANWHILE, if anyone is having a difficult time getting something near them....
Go on the website and put in your zip code
then
Scroll to the very bottom of the page and you will see a LINK that says click for ADDitional opportunities...it is where we found ours and for some reason did NOT turn up under the original search,,,,these opportunities are with the Groups "other" recognized organizations...and for us, there were plenty.... we signed up and within 4 days went, within another 4-5 days got our vouchers. :thumbsup2 It was so simple it was scary:woohoo:
Good Luck All!

Our family of 4 made up gift baskets for Valentine's Day for senior citizens that receive hot meals at home. The requirement was 5 gift bags for each volunteer. I did the shopping, DS10 and 11 helped make the baskets, and DH paid for all the supplies, which came to around $70. A little expensive compared to giving time, but it was the only thing I knew would keep my boys' attention and we did them at home.

We have APs, and we can't renew them when we visit in August (they expire in December), so we will be using ours to get the figurine with pins. I have seen a picture of the Disneyland ones, and they should be the same. They are really cool, and since we do fine without extra FPs (and the descriptions of possible FP cards to me sounded like they weren't very generous), we will take the souvenir. And there are actually 2 figurines-one has 4 pins for multi day passholders, and AP holders get one with 7 pins.

I turned the baskets in on February 1, and received notice that my vouchers were ready to print on the 4th. I attribute this to the volunteer organizer putting in for them right away. The vouchers are really cute, you will want to print one to keep.

Here is what is written on the vouchers:

"Thank you for volunteering! To redeem this voucher :
Present voucher and valid ID at a designated theme park will call ticket window. Valid
ID is one of the following : driver's license with photo, or a government-issued passport
or photo ID. If under age 18, you can instead bring an original or a copy of a birth
certificate (school or children security IDs not accepted).

Instructions for Annual Passholders and multi-day ticket

the 1-day, 1-theme park ticket.
Present your valid ID, this voucher, and your valid multi-day ticket or
Annual Pass at a theme park will call ticket window to redeem for a
Disney's FASTPASS® Special Exchange card or for a Special Ear

Resort in California

voucher at Disneyland® Resort in California, simply present your
valid ID and this voucher at a Main Entrance ticket booth. Your

Everyone gets their own voucher, and you don't have to use them together. As stated by a PP, you can use one per day to get the FPs, they are good only at one park.

My head is spinning from looking through 40 some pages- I want to do the project linus blankets. When i enter the zip code there are 80 some pages. I want to dontate to the one in Victorville Ca if they arent on the list then Moreno valley, ca or Anahiem. How do I find these on the list without having to go through pages and pages. TIA!

So did they desribe how the fastpass would work, or did you just read about how it will supposedly work from posts here?

Sure would be nice if Disney would just put info online on how this program will actually work... we are already a month into 2010

Does anyone know how long we can use the vouchers from print date??

for example we are signed up for April 1st but not going to disney till the end of sept. Should we wait to print ours till sept?? or does it not matter

I've looked up a couple of different Project Linus chapters, and I've never had to scroll through more than 3 or 4 pages if I used their exact zip code to start the search. I don't know of any other way to find an organization. Sorry

I believe the info on this site is from first hand reports:
(site belongs to a fellow Dis Board member)

Once you have your voucher I'm pretty sure you're good to go anytime (other than the dates that are excluded and the end of the promotion of course) But it doesn't need to redeemed within a certain number of days or anything.

I am just going by the speculations on the Dis. I would check it out before deciding, but the pin figures that I saw were pretty nice. Of course, they may be different at WDW, but I did see a picture of the ones at Disneyland.

I don't see the necessity of being so secretive, either. But it shouldn't be long before someone uses their voucher and can tell us for sure!

The activity we were signed up for was canceled, so now we are having to start over looking for things and there is not much left. :headache:

Just keep looking everyday, things pop-up and go quick. The one I found for this Sunday had an 8-11am time slot, as I was signing up it became unavailable and we had to take the 5-7pm.

Here are pictures of the figurine with pins if anyone is curious. I got them from mouseplanet's website, the link to the site is below.
