My family completed our Give a Day project and plan to head west as soon as school is out.

My question is this: I know at the World, you can opt for a family fastpass if you have a multiple day pass in hand already. I am considering buying a multiple day pass ahead of time for myself and using my voucher for FP's for the family.

1) Is there any problem with this plan?
2) Which attractions can I choose from for FP's at DL and CA? I'm guessing the FP option would be better for our DL day.

We will only be there 2 or 3 days, with possibly just one day in DL. So I thought having FP's in hand would be a HUGE help to our touring.

1) Nope, if you think it's worth it. You can always use the voucher to upgrade to a multi-day pass.

2) If you've read anything about the WDW pass, it works similarly. However at DLR, the FP is not for specific parks, it's for the whole resort. So:
The Donald attractions: Space, Splash, Indy, Roger Rabbit, California Screamin, ToT, and Soarin
The Daisy attractions: Buzz, Autopia, Big Thunder, Mulholland Madness, Grizzly River Run

I would not recommend designating "days to parks" like at WDW, if that makes sense. At DLR, it is SO easy to park hop: 2 minutes walking from gate to gate. Definitely go to both DL and DCA each day to maximize FP and the attractions that both parks have to offer. Also the GAD FP supports park hopping too since the rides you get to choose from are from both parks.

That is really helpful!

Is it generally 3 per group, or is it hard to pin down like at WDW?

I'm thinking it MIGHT be worth it because I could buy myself the promo priced pass currently offered (if it woks in June??? Need to check that...) whereas if I upgrade at the gate, the price is higher anyway.

I'm thinking of doing the same thing. There are six of us going and I thought I read somewhere that the special fp is good for you and up to 5 other people. Is that correct? Also, is the fp only good for one day? We are planning on going 4 or 5 days and usually don't hop since we are there that long.

I'm not an expert, but I do know the FP option will be good only one day... just as the park ticket would only be for one day.

Yes, the actual FP is good for up to 6 people and only good that day.

HOWEVER, let's say you have 4 people in your party, each have GAD vouchers, and you are going for 4 days. You can do this to maximize your GAD FP:

Day 1: Use Person #1s GAD voucher to get FPs for the whole group (because good for up to 6 people)
Day 2: Use Person #2s GAD voucher to get FPs for the whole group
Day 3: etc.
Day 4: etc.

Which will allow you to have the GAD FP option through your whole trip. You can also use regular FP still, which means you can get on a lot of rides if you plan correctly. :thumbsup2
