Ok, you've been warned so I will get right into it! I've always bought the cheapest bras out there, have never been in a Victoria's Secret (or similar), and have never had a bra fitting.
I have a 13 month old son and am still nursing. My size I know has gone up tremendously since pregnancy/birth/milk coming in and after a year my neck and shoulders have really taken a beating! I am almost constantly strained and uncomfortable and I am almost positive it's because my chest is bigger and are poorly supported. If I lift up my chest with my hands (sorry for the silly visual!
) I can feel the strain start to disappear almost instantly.
I HATE underwire, so I don't want to wear that kind but I know I need something with a lot of support. To be honest, I have been wearing sports bras because they are so comfy, but the lack of support is really getting to me. I have heard that the majority of women wear the wrong bra size and should get fitted; I have seen on a couple of fashion shows women who say it made a WORLD of difference.
Anyway, I think I am going to have to go in for a fitting, but do you have any recommendations for where to go? I want to go somewhere where I will get someone who is very knowledgable and helpful, especially since I am still nursing. I don't want a sales associate picking out just any old bra for me, I want someone who really knows what they are doing and can really help me. I feel like a lost little puppy in the bra section, so I want someone I can trust!
Is Victoria's Secret the best place to go or are they overrated? I called to find out about bra fittings and asked a few questions and aside from telling me yes they do bra fittings and no I don't need to make an appointment, the young girl on the phone didn't really seem that knowlegeable or helpful.
Anyway, any advice for where to go/what to look for would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Laura
