A member of our party owes me big time. MAJOR big time. I'm taking my 11-y-o g-daughter. She's a girly girl and I'm not. I'm trying to find something that would absolutely thrill her. Suggestions?

Seeing as many princesses as possible? Enchanted Tales with Belle would probably be a hit as well

My dd was not into princesses at that age but loved pick a pearl to make a cool piece of jewelry. She also loved eating in the castle, more for the ambience and food than characters. And she loved Gaston!

You say she's a girly girl. But do you know that she's into the princess things these days?

Good point. Definitely find that out first.

The only things I could think of food-wise are Akershus in Norway and 1900 Park Faire at the Grand Floridian.

If she loves shopping, Downtown Disney is your best bet. So. Many. Shops.

My daughter always enjoyed getting a hair wrap, she has done that on almost every trip at every age. We have done it at the Poly, Boardwalk, HS (by Muppets) and MK (by POtC).

She also loved pick a pearl.

I'm a girly girl myself. Well an older one. I would suggest for shopping the whole World Showcase. It's a lot of fun going from store to store and shopping. There are really interesting inexpensive items that make fantastic souvenirs.

I can't think of anything more tuned to a girly girl than Bibbity Bobbity Boutique

That is pretty girly, but it's really aimed more at the preschool set. An 11 year old would have to be very very unusual to want to do that, I think.

My suggestion is to talk to her about the kinds of things she would like to do. Kids that age change so rapidly, so unless you are extremely close chances are your assessment of her is a memory of what she used to be like. Maybe she's shifting out of a girly girl phase. Maybe she prefers Star Wars now. The only way to know for sure is to ask directly.

I was thinking the Pop Princess would be right up the alley of a girly girl 11 yo. I know it would be any 11 yo I know.

I'd think a package with hair, makeup, and nail polish would be fine for an 11 yo. They don't have to get or wear a princess dress/accessories.

What kind of 'girly' is she? It seems like there are some who are VERY into anything having to do with the princesses, and others who are just generally into typically girly things (hair, makeup,...).

My DD7 is very girly, but I'd say only moderately into princesses (she likes princesses, but she's not obsessed, and she's also into things like Star Wars, sports, etc). She's the kind of girl who loves to go out and play soccer all day, but will mostly likely be wearing a skirt and have her hair done while she does it. We're taking her to the Gardenview Tea Room (regular tea, not the princess one); BBB (she'll prob only wear her dress for an hour or so
- it'll be more about the makeup and hair); CRT breakfast; BOG; and I know she'll want to look around the shops in the WS. The perfume shop areas in France and Italy are always a big hit with her, as is picking out fancy desserts at Les Halles. I'm sure she'd also love pick-a-pearl.

My daughter did BBB through age 12. But we had been before and knew what she was signing up for. She totally rocked the pop princess in a full length Belle gown with hoop skirt. :) She also went with a friend, which makes a difference.

I think it would be far more typical for an 11 year old to think she was "too old" for it. She would likely be the oldest girl there, and might feel out of place. Some embrace that, but others are very uncomfortable with it at that age.

I found that around the tween age is when the love of Princesses faded, but my dd had Hannah Montana then so that may be why. She's back to loving Princesses now at 17 though.

I would ask her to help decide what to do, there are so many options she could love. Maybe schedule something she knows about and then do something as as surprise.

How about tea at the Grand Floridian?
not the princess tea, but the afternoon tea?

My 8 year old is a "girly" girl but is not into princesses at all! I agree that you should find out what she's into. The tea at the GF sounds lovely. May have to look into that for my girl! Good luck!

My 10yo niece absolutely LOVES trinkety stuff from the France pavilion in Epcot (necklaces, earrings, handbags, charm bracelets, Eiffel tower desk accessories), and the Hello Kitty stuff from the Japan pavilion. I think once she's older, she'll get more into the bath & body stuff and collectibles: perfume from France or Norway, bath salts & lotions from Basin in DTD, Alice in Wonderland tea set from the UK pavililon, those sorts of thing.

Since I didn't see it mentioned....if she's into girly but not Princess, how about something over at the Mandara Spa at the Dolphin? Easily accessible to/from Epcot, so you could meet up with the rest if your party... I still haven't had the change to try it. Maybe next trip!!

My granddaughter is very much into Princesses. While BBB would be fun, I can't afford that. Shopping is in our plans, buying not so much. She suggested Akershus, but we already have all our dining in place. My tophat son is into the Princesses, also, so I guess I'll just have the pirate take the other two to as many meet and greets as possible.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions for my princess!princess:
