Hi all. I am here now staying at Old Key West. Girls only trip. I've gotten a lot of good ideas here on the boards, so I thought I would try to do a dining review in case I could help other people with their dining plans.

Our first day we took it easy, and I forgot to take pictures of the food. We had a late breakfast at the Wave where we all got the buffet. I had fruit, sweet potato pancakes, waffles, eggs Benedict, sausage, and their signature grits. Since I am a Southern girl, I am particular with my grits. These were some of the best I have ever had! So good! I had never had eggs Benedict before. It was definitely interesting. Not bad but not the best either. I'm glad I tried it, but I would probably only eat it at a buffet.
We spent the early afternoon at Downtown Disney. Our lunch was at the healthiest dining spot there: Ghiradelli. I had the strawberry and chocolate sundae. Yum!
Dinner was at Olive Garden. Delicious as usual.

image.jpg Our second full day two of us jumped the pond and headed to Universal Studios. I have been there a few times in high school before the Harry Potter areas opened. Since I am a big fan, I was quite excited to see those areas! It is as neat as everyone has said! I absolutely loved every bit! We ate at the Leaky Cauldron where we had frozen Butterbeer and fish and chips. The Butterbeer was very good but very rich. It tasted like a frozen butter rum minus the rum.
I've had fish and chips in London and couldn't stand the fish. It was really strong. I was glad that wasn't the case at the Leaky Cauldron. I may be wrong, but it seemed to be "Americanized." Very good.

Supper was at the Whispering Canyon Cafe. I had never been there before. That place is a lot of fun! I decided to go with two appetizers for my meal: the Navajo fried bread and the pulled pork egg rolls. Yum! The bread was awesome! The serve it with honey on top and salsa on the side. I didn't even need the salsa because the bread by itself was great! The egg rolls were good, too. The pork was a little spicy, but I like spice, so I was good. My friends had the chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans. I tried it and loved it. I normally don't like baked chicken but theirs was nice and moist. The mashed potatoes were good as well. We split the chocolate cake with ice cream on top. Absolutely wonderful. They also brought me a cupcake for my birthday. They sang to me, but my server couldn't pronounce my name, so I had to say me when they got to the name part.

The next day was Magic Kingdom, so we just had a quick bite in the room. Lunch was at Peco Bills. Quick, warm food that did the trick. Hamburgers all around. The toppings bar was a big hit. My friend thoroughly enjoyed the sautéed mushrooms and onions. I'm quite a bit less adventurous. Just pickles, lettuce, and ketchup for me. I do love the "plastic" cheese sauce they serve. I also got a free chocolate cake for my birthday! It was just the same that is at most counter services, but I had never had it before. I really enjoyed it! The icing is very fudge like which I loved!

Dinner was highly anticipated. We had reservations for the Tomorrowland Dessert Party! It was quite chilly, so we all really enjoyed the hot chocolate. Options included chocolate covered strawberries, fruit, cupcakes, fruit tarts, banana cream puffs, cannolis, cheesecake mouse things, strawberry shortcake, chocolate tarts, and vanilla tarts. I enjoyed everything I tried except for the chocolate and vanilla tarts. They were ok, but the other options were better. I loved the strawberry shortcakes!

We had breakfast the next day at Olivia's. It was pretty good. I had waffles, scrambled eggs, and sausage. I loved the waffles, especially since they were Mickey waffles. The eggs were fine. It's hard to mess up with scrambled eggs. I normally love the sausage at Disney World, but I did not like it this time. There was a bite to it.

I have always wanted to try Yak and Yeti at Animal Kingdom. Unfortunately, after we changed some things around, it couldn't be fit into the plans. I did try the counter service though. I had the honey chicken. It was okay, reminded me of the China counter service at EPCOT.
