Girls Trip Take 2 - Labor Day Weekend 2021, Christmas 2021 and July 2024 Trips

Theme Park Summary- Part 4- July 2024

Today was Friday and it was our last park day. When we originally planned this trip we didn't think Danielle would have this day off, it was going to be her second to last day of work with Disney. We wanted to visit her at work and hopefully have a last meal with her and see her favorite night time attraction, Fantasmic. Well she didn't leave with us and she was able to get the day off so we all got to spend the day together in Studios.

The park opened at 9 and had early opening at 8:30. Dennis was cracking the whip again to get everyone moving. We were all up by 6:45 but not all dressed. I cannot tell you enough how much we all enjoyed having the extra space that the family suit gave us. The boys really loved having a "Livingroom" to hang out in and watch TV.




We didn't get ready as fast as Dennis would have liked but we were on the Skyliner by a little after 8. We all fit in one gondola, even with 2 strollers. We would push Dominic in the stroller and then he would slip out the bottom so he could enjoy the ride with everyone else.


Since this was Studios Day our outfits were all about Toy Story Land. Here's our group photo taken later in the day after we were all hot and sweaty.





Michelle was Bo Peep from Toy Story 4, I was a Green Alien, Gabriel was Woody, JP was Forky, Dominic was Buzz, Dennis didn't play along but her did wear a bright color, and Danielle didn't dress either but since she had on pink and was wearing Ms. Piggy we said she was Hamm. She had worn another one of her cute T-shirts, it featured Ms. Piggy and the song Feminnomemon. She of course got lots of CM compliments.


We made it into the park before 8:30 am! I introduced JP to Bo as we entered.



We had 3 Multi Passes that Danielle has snagged on Wednesday when the new system started. We once again went with 2 we could all do together and one for the thrill seekers. We had Mickey & Minnie's Runaway RR, Toy Story Mania and Tower of Terror. We didn't have any plans to do ROTR due to the different ages.
Dennis and Danielle headed down Sunset Blvd to hit Rockin' Roller Coaster they didn't have to go far to find the end of the line. The line was almost all the way down the street.





Michelle and I took the boys to ride Mickey and Minnie's Runaway RR. Our line was not nearly as long.


You can't go wrong with MMRR, the kids really loved it.

We did some shopping while we waited for Dennis and Danielle. JP did the sweetest thing. He spent his own money to get Dominic a little metal bus. Gabriel had fun trying on the Donald merch, he was still all about Donald. He pitched a huge fit when we made him take it off.






We all meet back up at Staring Rolls for some quick breakfast. Danielle has some fun taking selfies with JP and Dominic. You can see Dominic holding his new bus.

I forgot to share the RRC ride photo. This is Dennis' favorite ride in Studios. Can you tell?



After breakfast we used our Multi pass for MMRR. From there we went to Frozen, which is always a family favorite. The snope was really heavy and of course we all enjoyed the Historians. It still amazes me that there is always something new each time we go.




We rushed out of Frozen to try and catch Playhouse Disney but just missed the cut off. We lucked out and a very nice CM brought us in the secret back entrance. We went through a door that brought us to the check in area for Brown Derby right by the the Club 33 entrance. We haven't done this since 2019 but thought Dominic and Gabriel would like it. Gabriel had a blast but Dominic was very shy. The adults enjoyed being in the AC.




It was now time for our Multi Pass for TSMM. This ended up being pretty painful. I think they were only running 1 line so it took forever. We were in the line that goes through Andy's room, I can't remember the last time I had this line. The boys did not handle the wait very well.

They were tired and hungry. We finally got on the ride. Michelle rode with JP and Dominic, Gabriel rode with Dennis and I and Danielle had a car all to herself. She also ended up with the best in vehicle score and best this hour score.




We were all glad when this was over so we could get some lunch. Can anyone guess what we had for lunch?

Yes, this exactly! When it's just me the girl's don't move and they just think I'm nagging, but for Dennis there is no lip and they try so much harder.

I have no idea how she manages!

It's been really hard for her with the 2 youngest being so close in age and both wanting her attention. It really helped when she had Dominic at Danielle and I had Gabriel at the hotel. Michelle does have lots of help at different time. She comes over at least 3 nights a week to hang our with us and also goes to her in-laws.

Have you been there yet? We went to WDW for Rob's birthday the week after it opened, and that was his only pick for the trip. I was SO excited to get a reservation! I'm not the biggest BBQ lover, but he LOVED everything on the menu. I enjoyed all of the sides most of all--SO good!!!! And the little pie desserts in a jar. Now I've made myself hungry. This is definitely on our to do again list

I like the sound of your family suite especially when you have the grandkids with you. The extra room to chill out would be much appreciated.
Did you find the new multi pass things easy to use? They sort of remind me of the way things used to be when we could book 3 FREE fastpasses ( except of course they are no longer free ).
I’m guessing sci-fi for lunch so everyone could cool off and munch some tasty burgers while sitting in a car watching old movies.

We have been there, but it was just Dennis, Danielle and I. We went in April of 2023. I wasn't able to get an ADR before our trip, but that day ended up being rainy the first part of the day and we stuck it out in the park. I was able to grab an ADR for lunch. We really enjoyed it and I want to go back.

Danielle has her good and bad days. I guess will see what happens when her next lease is up. She is still enjoying setting up her own apartment.

Danielle did all the Multi Pass stuff for us and it seemed to be ok. We'll get another go at it in January using the normal 7 day schedule. It does feel like the old FP+ but still has more pressure due to the cost and short notice.

Cooling off was one of our goals and we did originally have a lunch ADR for Prime Time for the Fantasmic package.

Our server actually didn't bring one over to me when we got our check....I walked over and grabbed it off the unattended host stand, so I could have this picture! LOL (Don't worry--I put it back!! They didn't have to get rid of them because I stole one!)

I have such a dilemma.

Danielle called me yesterday to tell me she finally got an email telling the Leaders they can attend one Jollywood with a guest. They were not given this privilege last year and it's not for all CMs at Studios. She wants to bring me. Sounds simple right?

The complications are she's still trying to come home for Thanksgiving plus now she has added a request for the second weekend in December so she can go to a family get together with Dennis' family that our son Brent and his wife are going to since it's in Texas. Our hope would be to have all 3 siblings together. None of her time has been approved yet. She has asked for the party on December 18th, the day after she would return from visiting us (if approved). That would mean I would need to fly back with her and then fly back to New Orleans on the 19th. I also don't have much vacation time to use. I would have to use 2 days for this. And I have a trip in January to Disney already booked. Flight prices did just go down today compared to what I saw yesterday.

I really want to go.
