Girls Trip - Special "splurge" ideas?

Me and my BFFs are taking a "girls only" trip to Disneyland next summer. We're all on a budget but have decided that we'd like to have one special "splurge" while we are there. Just off the top of my head, I've come up with either a character meal, Blue Bayou, a WOC Dinner Package or a Fantasmic Dessert Package. I guess all of those involve food, but eating isn't a requisite of our splurge. Any other suggestions we can choose from?

Oh, and if it helps, we're a group of 30-something moms. I'm a frequent Disney traveller (mostly WDW), but the rest of the members of my party haven't been in quite a while, if at all.

I'm looking forward to your ideas!

The F! preferred seating would be great. Perhaps for a less pricey alternative you could go with a character meal.

Is this a one day trip?

Thanks for sharing your opinion, Rain. F! preferred seating does sound more relaxing than staking out a spot and wasting an entire evening waiting for the show.

This is not a one day trip. How many days is still not decided, however. I'm trying to talk them into a Wed through Sunday visit. I'm putting together a budget first, so we can decide on the length of the visit. Budgeting for that "splurge" is my next step. Still, we might decide that for the price of that splurge, we could add two more days worth of tickets, which might make more sense in the end. (And, it makes the most of their vacation budget because I'm paying for the accommodations.)

I hope I can talk them into both a longer stay and something special.

DH and I loved the segway tour at DCA. Definitely not cheap - it was $99, but if you have a Disney Visa (or AP) you get 20% off.

hey how about a non food idea..

just a thought. maybe getting your hair "did" at the BB boutique! they take all ages and all hair types--i asked ! :goodvibes :goodvibes :thumbsup2

Or, maybe a small shopping trip @ sephora!

Or, a night out AT Uva Bar, or lunch at House of blues!

Segway tour. Somewhat pricey, and you have to make sure that everyone's under the weight limit (250), but if everyone can go and has no balance issues, I bet it would be fun! And if everyone has kids too young to go on it, then it's MORE fun, because it's something they likely can't do on a family trip.

Yea for you girls!! We are doing an all girls trip in 25 days, also 30-somethings! Im soo excited to try Disneyland without the kids! Is that bad?! We decided to do Blue Bayou for our big meal. We thought the atmosphere would be fun. I would also like to try the Fantasmic Package, but couldnt talk the others into it:) Oh well..next trip (if my hubby makes it thru with the kiddos!) You guys have any other ideas you have talked about that will make the trip special? I have been stalking the Disboards Ladies trip to get some fun ideas. Ive been putting together some gift bags for the gals in my group. I will have to post some pics of them when I get them all put together. I think Ive spent a BIT more then I thought I would, but they will be cute! Have fun planning and on your trip!!!!

Just my mom and I are going at the end of September. I have been looking for something special to do as well.

I have been thinking about sitting at the chef's counter @ Napa Rose, BB & F! dessert.

Also in the non-food category I was thinking maybe some spa treatments @the GC.

Of course when I mention any of this to my mom she wants to know the price and then instantly rejects it. I have decided to at least book F! since it is non refundable & she will HAVE to accept it. :rotfl2:

Spa treatments at Mandara Spa would be wonderful! If you're looking for a cheaper option, Sephora does scheduled makeovers. You have to buy $50 worth of products. Or, if you walk in, you can usually get a mini-makeover with no minimum purchase.

Mmmmmmm mini makeover—me wanty!! I forgot they do have those!

Great ideas!

So far I've got:

Character meal (Which do you think would be best? We're staying at The Grand Californian, if that helps.)
Blue Bayou meal
WOC Dinner Package
F! Dessert/Reserved Seating
Segway Tour at DCA
Bibbity Bobbity Boutique (any adults with experience want to comment on this?)
Sephora Scheduled or Mini Makeover
UVA Bar
House of Blues meal
Chefs Counter @ Napa Rose (I've never heard of this!)
Mandara Spa(that's at the GC, right?)

Keep 'em coming!

Shishi . . . hope your girls only trip is a blast! Please do post your gift bags!

We haven't talked about any options, really. It is my job to put together a budget and our group of friends will decide from there who is going and we'll decide for how long. Since most of them aren't frequent visitors and I'm not sure we'll be staying for as long as I'd like, I don't want to plan for too much.

My suggestion would be to take a tour. I made reservations for my sister and I to take what ended up being the least expensive one. We were escorted around Disneyland and DCA where our escort gave interesting information about the park and making of park. We rode I think 6 attractions (no waiting in line), all were given some fast passes for attractions of our choice to use later. I believe I paid $25.00 each --I used my Disneyland visa to get a discount. I totally enjoyed the tour and plan on doing this one again. Oh almost forgot you will get a ticket for VIP sitting to one "show". We picked the afternoon parade VIP seating. We were topside of the railroad station where two rows of chairs are set up. This perk is worth the price of tour itself. Hope this helps.

I'm going with 4 awesome friends in Sept. We are also on a super tight budget. We are planning to eat breakfast at the hotel (free) and counter service food. Maybe even some off site restaurants w coupons.
I'm making gift bags too. Well, really big envelopes all decorated with a disney theme, different for ea. person. I can't wait to finish them :)

I did BB for my 38th bday. :) I had a blast and the FGiT loved doing a "queen" instead of a "princess" :) I felt it was well worth it and I got compliments all day on my being a queen. it really was fun. :) I would do it again!!

I like the idea of doing a guided tour at the parks. That would be a great splurge or treat for everyone! I know you're not going during the holidays but I paid for my parents to take the Holiday Tour last Nov. and they really enjoyed it!

So, what does a queen wear around the park all day?
