Cheryl~ That is really cool about Gary Sinese. My DH had the chance to meet and hang out with him on his last deployment. Gary loves the troops. Earl was saying that the German soldiers that were with him kept calling him "Lt.Dan" and one said, "You got your legs back!" Gary's response was, "They serve their countries so they can call me whatever they want." lol He seems like such a great guy!

Sarah~ That stinks about the race. I am glad you recieved all of your goodies.

Nothing exciting for me to post today popcorn:: just hanging out and doing mundane daily life activities....

I don't have a preference for CoD since I am not going to the BBQ. I will be going with the flow!

PS. DIS Boards is making me grumpy tonight...too many page loading issues....

again I blame the internet...at least it raised my post counts...

Very tempted to switch my Sunday breakfast to Steakhouse 55 because I, ummmmmmm, okay I hate to admit this, and everyone promise not to kick my behind, but I truly dislike character meals. Like....really....don't....like....a....lot! But now I feel bad that I'm jumping ship and leaving only a small group left to contend with the, uhhhhhh, annoying....no no, I mean sweet characters. I'll think about it.

And I may end up adding the BBQ to my Friday lunch schedule. Thinking about that one too.

Soooooo, aren't you all so happy to know what I'm thinking about? Super exciting! :goodvibes

Beth has done gone turned into a hillbilly ;). Just messing with ya!

I couldn't agree more. That's why I didn't sign up for the BBQ in the first place, because I knew we probably wouldn't be done in time and I'd rather go to CoD.
:lmao: OMG, what the heck was I posting?? Must be my missing teeth....they are making me post all gosh darn funny now. ;)

Hopefully both work out, but there's simply not enough hours in the day sometimes to do it all. It's just about which is more important to you. If someone wants to shop, and they miss the BBQ, well, there are other group meals. :goodvibes

I did run Sunday night. It was an experience to say the least. It was the most dis-organized race I have run. They ran out of water along the course, they ran out of "swag-bags" and t-shirts at the expo and they ran out of medals! I was lucky enough to get all three. It was so cold and started raining the last half mile. It I had crossed the finish line and not gotten my medal I would have cried.

After the first 15 or so corrals the stopped spacing every one out and there was no room to run since we were all should to shoulder. It took me about 30 minutes longer than my usual pace to finish.

I got really sick after the race and was sick much of monday and from what I've read online the water they did have might have been contaminated becasue so many people got sick. :scared1: The water was coming right out of fire hydrants in to trash cans which they then dipped cups into. So unsanitary!
OMG, that's awful. I'm so glad you got your medals and such. It was freakin cold that night!!! I hope you are feeling okay now. I was thinking about ya!

It's getting really bad. :sad2:

I want to do the BBQ. It sounds good and I've never done it. SH55 sounds good too, but if I go, I'll most likely be staying at the Carousel and I am just too darn lazy to walk that far. So, I guess I'll try La Brea.
Aren't you glad to know what I'm thinking about as well?? And I don't even know if I'm going for one day, two days, or at all!!! :lmao:

I actually like character meals, but I do so many with Laila, I figured I'd rather try something I've never done before. So that's why I jumped ship from the Surfs Up breakfast.

Hi everyone! I have been uber busy. Saturday a friend and I sold beads at a community bazaar for a program called Bead for Life; the beads are made out of paper, of all things, which is rolled by women in Uganda. The beads are then resined and cured. They are gorgeous! The proceeds then go to the women to provide income, a savings account and training in how to run a business. After 18 months in addition to their savings accounts they can also get micro-loans from the organization to start a business--and many have started successful businesses like beauty salons, catering, restaurants--four even went together and started a brick factory. We sold over $1,300 worth--which is amazing considering the most expensive piece was $25 and I think we sold maybe two of those.

Yesterday I went to Disneyland. A friend from another website invited me to join her family for the Candlelight Processional--they have friends who are Club 33 members, so we actually had SEATS in the third row--I was 10 feet or so from Gary Sinise the narrator. It was AWESOME!!!! (he's a cutie). Afterwards we went to Club 33 for dinner, which was also great, but lasted a LONG time because it was the special Club Candlelight meal. So we didn't order--it was a 7-course dinner with wine accompanying every course. (No, I didn't drink it all!) They also gave each of us a Club 33 ornament. I'll try to post pics of the menu and ornament later.

Sounds like you had a weekend jam packed full of fun! And we're still waiting for pics.......:rolleyes1

Beth - would you pretty please take me off of Surf's Up and put me on Steakhouse 55 for Sunday, and then add me to the BBQ for Friday. Thanks sista! :thumbsup2

Uh oh, you jumped ship too? I kinda feel bad, but Steakhouse 55 sounds yummy...and more, shall I say, relaxing. :rolleyes1

Sorry Surf's Up peeps. On the bright side, this means more character time for you. :goodvibes

If this is the start of an official poll, I will go with CoD.

:scared1: Nope, no polls. LOL ;)
Jill should be the one to set whatever time works for her. If it works so that those going to CoD can also make it to the BBQ, perfect. If not, then I guess everyone will have to decide if they want to go shopping or to the BBQ. I think that's the simplest and fairest way to do it. :)

Hello ladies!! Happy Hump Day to everyone. I've got lots going on around the house including washing tons of bedding and towels (you're jealous, aren't you?) and baking, baking, baking! It smells yummy in here. :cloud9:
This week cannot go by fast enough. I want the kids to be on Christmas break already. We've got all sorts of fun things planned and I'm ready now!

Take care, everyone. TTYL!

!

I know polls are not always a good thing .
It might work out for fast shoppers who have their own car. They could shop and get back in time for the BBQ.

I think it could work if we got there right at opening. I really want to attempt to do both if at all possible. I haven't done the BBQ before or been to CoD so it's going to be really tough to choose between them if I have to, shopping and eating are both two of my favorite things. :thumbsup2

It has been pretty crazy around here, back in November I found out the office that I have been working at for the past 13 1/2 years is closing. I was devastated by the news. However I was given the opportunity to work from home but on a commission only basis. So far it has been working out wonderfully! Working from home has been like a dream come true and I wish I could have been able to so it sooner.
Since I now set my own hours I have the freedom to pursue another dream of mine. I am working on becoming a Disney Travel Specialist. I am so excited and having so much fun. I am also thinking about starting my own blog but am totally stuck on a name for it, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I am so excited about all these changes in my life that I just had to share.:banana::banana:

I hope everyone is having a great week so far!!!

As far as CoD is concerned, Jill is the one who sets the time for that. She usually likes to do it earlier in the morning, although I don't know what her schedule might be for that day. I just wanted to point out that we shouldn't make or change a Company D time, unless Jill gives us the okay. I know she's quite busy right now with Parker and life in general and hasn't been on the DIS.

Jill should be the one to set whatever time works for her. If it works so that those going to CoD can also make it to the BBQ, perfect. If not, then I guess everyone will have to decide if they want to go shopping or to the BBQ.

I agree - and everyone has to remember that the only reason we would even get the chance to go to CoD is because of Jill's more than generous spirit in offering. We should just all be patient and wait to hear what Jill says. Like Chris mentioned, she's got a lot going on right now.

So I am officially on the hope to make it team.lol UGH!
I have told a couple people already but not sure I posted on here yet. My BFF is expecting a baby as a surrogate mother. She is single so I am her one and only to depend on. She is due 3/2. So as you can see anything can happen and I can't make "reservations" really but I can still hope to make it. My BFF has had a few kids and so this one may come just in time for me to hit the road and make the trip.l
So I would think it may be best to add my name to eating reservations so I am assured a seat. Unless they require prior payment then, leave me off.
Here is what I would like to be added to.
24th BBQ lunch
Dessert Seating
25th Jazz Kitchen Dinner
26th Surfs Up Breakfast

Oh hey is there a dead line on when we have to make up our minds by the way? I am thinking the steak place may be a good option too. hhmmm?
What is the CoD thing? I am guessing shopping but what exactly. I missed it?

Hello ladies!

A quick update on the pink tee. Just about done on the final design and colors. Went to the print shop with the rough draft, and was quoted 12.00 -14.00 for a plain printed tee. That is with the maximum amount of 6 colors!!! :cool1: Now I need to figure out the best to my ability how much the rhinestones and glitter will cost. I'm excited. I hope you all will like the design. LOL...I like it, so you will like too. Right? :rotfl::rolleyes1

(Am I scaring you?)popcorn::

Nope, you're not skeering me....... I likes pink, glitter, and rhinestones princess: (I know, that was a closely guarded secret, wasn't it????) :rolleyes1

Michelle,

I would sign up for anything that doesn't need to be pre-paid. Don't sign up for the Fantasmic Dessert or any tours. Everything else you can cancel at the last minute if need be.
I hope you do not have to. We'd love to meet you, and spend some time with you. :grouphug:

CoD, stands for the Company Disney store where Cast Members only get to shop. Jill is a CM, and can graciously get us into the store. It allows us to shop and get all of those fantastic discounts that the CMs can. There is one small section of the store that is off limits. It's slot of fun, and does take some time. A big thank you to Jill for taking her time for us!

Hope that helps. :thumbsup2
