Yikes. Ghost town around here today.

Everybody's out decorating, shopping, wrapping, etc, I think!

I just hopped on real quick to say two things:
1. Good luck to Sarah/MotoXPrincess99. If my memory serves me correctly she is running in the Rock'n'Roll marathon right now down on the Strip. They closed both sides of Las Vegas Blvd and they'll have bands playing as the runners go by. Kick some butt, Sarah!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

2. **Christmas Stocking Exchangers** If you are waiting for the go ahead to open your Christmas stocking, tonight's the night!! 8:00 p.m. Remember to take photos to share on the exchange thread. Thanks!!! :santa:

Go Sarah! My friend ran in the CA International Marathon this morning. Finished *just* under 4 hours. Crazy! LOL

WOO HOO! IT'S STOCKING NIGHT!!!!!! :cool1:

The CIM runs right in front of my friend's house and she was trapped today! :scared1: There is no way I would ever finish 26 miles under hours, let alone! Sheesh!

I have been working on Christmas crafts, cleaning, and some light shopping today. DH went out with the boys to shop for me for Christmas. He knows he cannot hide presents without me trying to snoop so he had to go wrap them before he left for work :rotfl: I am so difficult!

Please add me to Steakhouse 55 breakfast
Yum! I prefer breakfast over most other meals, except dessert -- of course! ;)

Beth~ Can you please move me from Surfs Up breakfast to SH55? Please and Thank you.

I am so on the fence about the Surf's Up breakfast. Is it the same as the Lilo and Stitch one and is Donald one of the characters there? I have never been to Steakhouse 55 for breakfast and that looks really good too. Decisions, decisions...

It's like the Lilo & Stitch meal.......they have surf lessons, dancing, hula hoop, etc for the kiddos. Mickey is the host, and we've seen Stitch, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto & Daisy.....but never Donald. In fact the only time I've ever seen Donald at a character meal at DL was when Mickey hosted the meal at Ariel's Grotto......Cap't Mickey & Friends back in 2005.

I think it's on the early side because of the Fantasmic dessert seating the same night. Even if it's the second show, at least one person has to line up pretty early to get the seats.

Sarah and I are doing the dessert seating too. Looks like we'll be eating all day long !:scared1:

I hope not everyone is bailing on Surf's Up! I have not been yet and am looking forward to it :cutie:
[/QUOTE]
Sarah and I plan to stick with Surf's Up, we haven't done it either.
Something else to think about.... by moving the BBQ to 11:30, that might make it really tight for those going to Company D. I'm not sure what time the CoD excursion is, but there's the PFF group photo that morning, followed by CoD for those who are interested, and then lunch at the BBQ.
I don't know how long it takes, so I can't speak as to whether or not this will work. :confused3 Maybe someone who went to CoD last time, can offer their thoughts on whether or not those going to CoD will still make the earlier BBQ time.

Last time we were at Company D a long time. Over an hour. Plus there's the drive back, putting our 'loot' back in our rooms and walking back to the parks. I don't think we'd be back in time to be at the BBQ by 11:30.

Hi ladies!

How is everyone?

I have oodles to catch up on. :faint:

I believe this is my preference for meals. At least for now..... LOL?....

Thursday-
Lunch-Paradise Grill
Meet and Greet :goodvibes

Friday-
Lunch- Big Thunder
Fantastic Dessert

Saturday-
Lunch- Hungry Bear/Riverbelle Terrace (My favorite salad!):cloud9:
Dinner-Jazz Kitchen

Sunday
Breakfast- La Brea
Lunch- Cafe Orleans
Appetizers/Drinks-Trader Sams

I know I picked some different places, but that is the beauty of going on this trip....... I can do almost whatever I want! :rolleyes1 If anyone wants to join me at Cafe Orleans on Sunday I would love the company!:grouphug:

Just to put in my two cents, I don't see how there would be enough time Friday to do PFF, CoD, and get to the BBQ by 11:30. Doesn't PFF open an hour after park opening, which will probably make it 9:00, and it takes a lot of time. CoD took a couple of hours. What if we move the BBQ up to 11:00 (if they start that early) and do CoD afterward? Then Cafe Orleans at 5:30 would not seem too early.

I am planning to stick with Surf's Up. I was there with my sons the first weekend they switched from Lilo & Stitch two years ago, and met Vicki for the first time! We recognized each other from our pictures on the thread. We were both there for MouseAdventure.

Hi everyone! I have been uber busy. Saturday a friend and I sold beads at a community bazaar for a program called Bead for Life; the beads are made out of paper, of all things, which is rolled by women in Uganda. The beads are then resined and cured. They are gorgeous! The proceeds then go to the women to provide income, a savings account and training in how to run a business. After 18 months in addition to their savings accounts they can also get micro-loans from the organization to start a business--and many have started successful businesses like beauty salons, catering, restaurants--four even went together and started a brick factory. We sold over $1,300 worth--which is amazing considering the most expensive piece was $25 and I think we sold maybe two of those.

Yesterday I went to Disneyland. A friend from another website invited me to join her family for the Candlelight Processional--they have friends who are Club 33 members, so we actually had SEATS in the third row--I was 10 feet or so from Gary Sinise the narrator. It was AWESOME!!!! (he's a cutie). Afterwards we went to Club 33 for dinner, which was also great, but lasted a LONG time because it was the special Club Candlelight meal. So we didn't order--it was a 7-course dinner with wine accompanying every course. (No, I didn't drink it all!) They also gave each of us a Club 33 ornament. I'll try to post pics of the menu and ornament later. Anyway, I got home after midnight and am dragging today (but not as much as my friends who had to drive home to Modesto after dinner---they got home at 5:45 a.m. and had to go to work at 8 a.m.!)

As for the trip, Beth if you could make sure I'm switched from Surf's Up to SH55 for Sunday breakfast that would be great. And I will join Ms. Melody at Cafe Orleans on Sunday. May just have beignets! LOL

It's exciting to see all the meal planning and reservation making going on. :goodvibes It's sometimes difficult to get the timing right. I know I can't do everything or I'd feel like all I'm doing this trip is eating.

As far as CoD is concerned, Jill is the one who sets the time for that. She usually likes to do it earlier in the morning, although I don't know what her schedule might be for that day. I just wanted to point out that we shouldn't make or change a Company D time, unless Jill gives us the okay. I know she's quite busy right now with Parker and life in general and hasn't been on the DIS.

Cheryl, your weekend sounds fabulous. How exciting for you to experience that. :)

I understand if the 11:30 time for the BBQ doesn't work, I was just suggesting it. I don't know if there is enough time for CoD as we have it. Jill usually has everyone meet at a hotel (Hojo's or The Grand both times I went) and like someone mentioned, it's at least a two hour event from start to finish (assuming "finish" is back in DL). We may have to rethink some things. I do like your idea Carol about eating first and then going to CoD. Poor Jill has been through so much lately with Parker, I am sure the last thing on her mind is our trip to CoD.

Hi Mel, welcome home!
I am excited for Trader's Sams. Love that place. :yay:

Cheryl, I know about the paper bead necklaces, my sister has one and they are beautiful like you said.
You had a Disneyland day that I can only dream about.
Looking forward to your photos.

What a wonderful and fulfilling weekend Cheryl. I have seen those beads around. I wonder if they were made by the same organization?

Geesh, your meal at Club 33 sounds like it was super special! How often do they do a 7 course meal? I can't wait to see your ornament. What a keepsake!
Did you witness a marriage proposal?:bride::goodvibes

Thanks for joining me at Cafe Orleans on Sunday. We ate dinner there Friday night and it was extra good. We even tried the new Banana Fosters Crepes. Yummy!
*****************************************

It is super cold here right now. Woke up this morning, and it looked like it snowed across the street. The fields are empty, so the bare ground was covered with frost. So pretty.

Another crazy week here.
Tomorrow night Kaitlyn has a HS Christmas concert. Wednesday night, I will be hanging a Christmas ornament with my mom's name on it, for a special tree lighting ceremony for this past year's Hospice patients. It will be hard, but very meaningful I'm sure. Friday and Saturday, going to a big musical that Kaitlyn is in. She is singing and dancing only. No speaking parts for her. Thank goodness for that. It has been a huge commitment, just for the part she has. LOL.....I think I get to stay home Thursday night. Yay!

Purple tee shirt ladies. I'm still needing something from some of you. :rolleyes1

I know my vote doesn't matter much and I know that Jill has a lot on her mind but I would love it if it somehow got moved (co D that is) because that is something I REALLY wanted to do and one of the few diva activities mom and I were hoping to do since most of the time we won't be participating because of the girls being with us. We are getting in from our cruise at 8 that morning and we still haven't decided if we are renting a car or taking a shuttle but either way I figure by the time we do that and then get to our hotel and check in it could be 10 or later. So I would LOVE it if it somehow worked out!! I have never been and this may be the last year we can go but I totally understand if it doesn't work with Jill's schedule. After all she is kind enough to let us all do this. But IF for some reason it does change mom and I def would love to go!!

And Mel just fyi mom and I sent our check last Fri so hopefully if you don't have it yet you will be getting it soon.

I didn't think so, but I've done gone to CoD so I wasn't sure.

It doesn't matter to me since I won't be going to CoD. I'll change the schedule to whatever is decided upon.

It is definitely a challenge to get the timing right. And no, you can't do everything. I always pick and choose my favorites and go with that. ::yes::
I agree that it should be Jill who sets the time for CoD. I remember from trips past that it usually takes place in the morning. If she wants to keep it in on Friday morning, that sounds fine. Then it will simply boil down to making a choice between going shopping or going to the BBQ. :)

...but I've done gone to CoD so I wasn't sure.

Beth has done gone turned into a hillbilly ;). Just messing with ya!

I couldn't agree more. That's why I didn't sign up for the BBQ in the first place, because I knew we probably wouldn't be done in time and I'd rather go to CoD.

I did run Sunday night. It was an experience to say the least. It was the most dis-organized race I have run. They ran out of water along the course, they ran out of "swag-bags" and t-shirts at the expo and they ran out of medals! I was lucky enough to get all three. It was so cold and started raining the last half mile. It I had crossed the finish line and not gotten my medal I would have cried.

After the first 15 or so corrals the stopped spacing every one out and there was no room to run since we were all should to shoulder. It took me about 30 minutes longer than my usual pace to finish.

I got really sick after the race and was sick much of monday and from what I've read online the water they did have might have been contaminated becasue so many people got sick. :scared1: The water was coming right out of fire hydrants in to trash cans which they then dipped cups into. So unsanitary!

Go Sarah! My friend ran in the CA International Marathon this morning. Finished *just* under 4 hours. Crazy! LOL
